What a great place! We stayed in a shepherd's hut. The facilities are amazing and very clean. Staff very friendly. Breakfast outstanding. Great fishing facilities.Only improvement suggestion would be for the café to be opened earlier for breakfast and later in the evening.Over all, a fantastic weekend! We will definitely be back!

We recently stayed in one of the Lakeside Shepherd Huts and it was a lovely weekend with great weather luckily! Was exactly what we expected and was very clean…Very happy with the shower block and toilet facilities and cleanliness. We ate in the café by the lake a couple of times for breakfast as It is included with our stay package. It is a shame that the food for the evening stops at 3 pm as we would’ve possibly had a meal in the evening there if we could’ve. The only negative of the whole day was that the cocktails by the pump were quite expensive compared to the last time we were down Unfortunately, we only had one of those before heading to the local pub… (Which is a shame as we would’ve liked to have stayed there and drank by the lake).

We had a fabulous time, having never stayed at this time of year before, it surpassed our exectations!. The Shepherds huts we hired were wonderfully warm, and all the staff we encountered were brilliant. We particularly wanted to mention, Caroline & Gabe in the cafe: as they went above & beyond in helping my sister Karen, who uses crutches. They made sure that we were always seated comfortably & close to the disabled access. We also particularly wanted to mention Simon too, who very kindly attended to some greenery that had been making itself a "noise nuisance" with the high winds that were blowing on the first night of her stay in Old George, tap, tap, tap repeatedly, & after a conversaton with him in the bathrooms block, he quietly sorted it & she & Colin had a much better nights sleep the following night!!We were so pleased with our stay, we have already booked again for the weekend before Valentines day, in Iris Lodge.Very many thanks to everyone at Sumners for a wonderful
