Iris Lodge is a fabulous space, exceptionally clean with all the amenities you can hope for. The decking provides incredible views of the lake. The different lakes offer ample opportunities to fish keeping the younger ones entertained all day! The onsite staff were friendly & professional, and a special mention to thank Debbie for making our stay so enjoyable. Food & service at the cafe was terrific. Would also highly recommend taking a 5 mins stroll to visit The Queen's Head in the village, a lovely local with great beers.

It was a wonderful experience we normally camp at Sumners with our caravan but thought we would treat ourselves for the new year by staying in the lodge! There was an issue in the lodge the first night, but Charlie came around and helped us with it, the staff are wonderful nothing is too much trouble for them! The location is great it is so peaceful! There are lovely walls to go on around the campsite too! We had new year’s dinner in the local pub they are super friendly and the food was gorgeous! The food onsite is also brilliant we had breakfast in the restaurant it was delicious!

Due to unforeseen and minor issue we experienced, the staff and management went well out of their way to sort sort and accommodate m6self and the family, which was truly appreciated given the circumstances. Fantastic destination and location for a break away from the monotony of the hustle of everyday work... Highly recommend sumners for a relaxing break in nature

Comfortable break

We have been staying at Sumners for a number of years and the last three stays has been in Iris or Lilly Lodge. Our stay was very comfortable and if there was a problem it was dealt with very quickly. Very small thing that would not put us off but would suggest up grading some of the kitchen utensils such as the cutlery which is more suitable for camping.

Nice Break

This is about the 5th stay with family and it is now getting to a stage that I may not return purley based on the cost. A jump of around £400 this year from 20021 booking plus an increase in fishing costs for fishing other lakes on site is putting this venue out of reach for a fishing holiday, Fishing was not as good as the last visit and it was hard going during the daylight Hrs. The accommodation (Iris Lodge) is of a good standard although repairs like the blinds in the kitchen are still not fully working from our previous stay and the kitchen window would not open. Someone did come to look at the window but not repaired by time we left, The staff were pleasant and the site was clean and tidy. Overall was relaxing but that price is a killer.

Nice, but......

This was our third stay at Sumners Pond, each time we have stayed at Iris Lodge - we have always liked the views etc and the lodge is very comfortable and well appointed, but this time we found ourselves looking at each other and asking why are we here? There was a massive excavation project ongoing about 50 meters from the lodge which caused a lot of dust and noise - we were informed of this work by email a week before we turned up so no time to cancel (not that we were offered the choice) - the building work also meant there was a VERY long walk to dispose of any bags of rubbish etc. The site itself is really nice with plenty of lakes etc but very little in the way of amenities. It really needs a shop of some sort - (maybe thats what the construction work is?) - the Cafe By the Lake is OK - very expensive for what you get - a very limited menu and not very good quality food. Not sure we'll be back to be honest.
