The staff were brilliant but unfortunately moorhen lodge needed improvement the wardrobes needed updating no hooks in the bathroom the living room furniture was quite old and in some places quite tatty, the prices for the accommodation was quite expensive even out of season, the food in the cafe was great but again quite expensive. The small hamper they leave guests in the lodge is a lovely idea and very welcome.

We like it at sumners pond it is a great place so clean friendly the staff are all great very helpful. We have been 5 time before and due back again next year sumners pond is a hard water to fish we did get a 21lb carp out the water.we just wish that as staying on site you should be able to go to other waters to fish and not have to pay for it that is the only down fall there is 3 lakes and you have to pay to fish on then and you pay a lot of money to stay in the lo

We had a very relaxing stay in the lodge 'Moorhen' which was very well equipped in the kitchen area, lacking for nothing, however the double bedroom was somewhat of a nightmare as there was only seven inches at the most either side to navigate getting in the bed.I myself had two nasty falls resulting in being badly bruised, and this was due to the steps leading onto the decking which were not marked with any indication as to one's safety, thus making it look like there was no step at all. I reported it to the receptionist, showing her my badly bruised torso who promised me something would be done bur for the remaining five days of our stay nothing was done and all it needed was some kind of tape or marking across the step boundary. I myself had to place one of towels on the step for safety, finding it rather incomprehensible that the site didn't find it seriously enough to action on the same day!

Very comfortable accommodation in a great location. My husband enjoyed his fishing around our sightseeing trips. We loved visiting Horsham, Arundel castle & Leonardslee lakes & gardens. Lovely large decking to accommodate both those fishing and those relaxing.

Value for money (if only staying 3 nights) stunning lodge

We stayed at Moorhen lodge and absolutely loved it.. the lodge itself was stunning, well equipped and incredibly clean. We had a huge deck to fish from but unfortunately didn’t catch anything at all (no fault of the campsite as was very cold and wet weather) every single member of staff we encountered was very friendly and helpful.. we ate at the cafe by the lake and have to say it’s the best breakfast I’ve EVER had so highly recommend going there although needs to be open for evening food we felt. If I was to give some feedback in general it would be to offer 3 nights stays during the summer months as 1. It’s expensive to stay for 7 nights if just 2 of you in a lodge 2. It’s not so easy for parents who just want a weekend away together to go finding childcare for 7 nights 3. 3 nights we found to be enough. Also the bed in the main bedroom was very hard and we thought maybe putting tvs in the bedrooms otherwise we cannot fault the campsite..

We spent our 3rd Christmas here at Sumners Pond. We love the calm and tranquility of this beautiful place. We did some walks around all the lakes and visited the cute pub. The main attraction for us is the view from the cabins. It's just incredible watching the sunrise in the morning 🌅 over the lake. We love coming here - it's a piece of heaven.
