Accepted Experience camping in a glamping pod at Sumners Ponds Fishery & Campsite. The concept is to bring all your own equipment less the tent – so you need to bring your own bedding including mattress or camp bed, cooking equipment and anything else you think you might need for a camping trip. Best of all you will be cosy and warm with no wet tent to pack away at the end of your stay.

The glamping pod consists of lockable double doors, carpeted flooring, electric heater and lighting with the use of a double plug socket. There is also a small decking area on each of the pods for use as a seating and cooking area. At each pod there is a picnic table exclusively for your use.

Use of the showers blocks and electricity is included. Fishing is separate and tickets can be purchased when you arrive. The Small Lakeside Glamping Pods are located on the Sumners Lake and Farm Pond and can sleep up to two adults and two small children.

Glamping at Sumners Ponds Fishery and Campsite in West Sussex is a unique and beautiful spot set in tranquil countryside amongst 100 acres of lakes, woodland and pasture.

The campsite itself boasts high quality campsite facilities, acres of woodland, a working farm and fishing lakes. All this in a beautiful and secluded setting which is perfect for just relaxing, or for the more active, exploring the many footpaths and safe cycle-ways within and around the site.

Sumners Ponds is an ideal touring base, with many beautiful towns and villages near by. Access to the South Downs National Park and the coast is easy, while Brighton is only half an hour by car and London only one hour away. There really is something for everyone.

The Cafe by the Lake is our restaurant and bar which is open to both those staying on site and the general public. We aim to provide the highest standard of food and service.

When you arrive the Smith family and the team will be here to ensure that your glamping break in West Sussex is as enjoyable as possible. We look forward to welcoming you.

Lovely Weekend Getaway

Cristina, Mark - 26/09/2024

I stayed for a weekend in a lakeside camping pod with my 9’year old son. We had a fantastic time and both look forward to visiting again soon. The pod was warm and an excellent alternative to a tent, with easy access to the facilities. We enjoyed the fishing, the playground, lunch in the cafe and dinner at the nearby pub down the road. Highly recommend to others!

We booked Sumners Ponds after a recommendation from a friend. We were not disappointed. The site is well established and has various accommodation options. The toilet/shower block we used was fantastic being both modern and clean. Although we stayed in a pod we are usually campers and took the opportunity to look at the camping field which looked great. The site has a number of fishing lakes which attracts both serious and amateur fishermen. The site appears to be very wheelchair friendly and even has wheelchair accessible fishing swims! We visited the on site cafe and the breakfast was very good. The staff in reception are friendly and helpful and if you do need any fishing tackle they have a well stocked tackle/bait shop. The Queens Head pub just up the road does good ale and food for the evenings you don’t cook.. The pub is a very old oak beamed quintessentially English pub.All in all a lovely place to stay and one we will return to.

Lovely stay

We had a lovely stay in one of the lakeside pods on farm pond. We caught lots of fish ( mostly under 10lb) but this was perfect for the kids. This is the cleanest site I have ever been to and the toilet and shower blocks were spotless at any time of day. Every staff member we came into contact with was so helpful and friendly. We are already planning our next visit.... But we are going to stay in one of the bigger lodges next time as we did struggle to fit ourselves and all of our stuff (as a family of 4 and a dog) into the pod. Thanks for a great stay

Sumners Ponds

Perfect venue for family fishing.Friendly staff who are very friendly and welcoming. The family pod on farm pond is not very big so adding fishing beds will only allow space for 2 adults comfortably. The fishing was good with carp up to about 6lb that we caught on our visit. The main lake would have been a better choice for our visit but we did enjoy our stay. Thanks.
