Experience camping in a family glamping pod at Sumners Ponds Fishery & Campsite. The concept is to bring all your own equipment less the tent – so you need to bring your own bedding including mattress or camp bed, cooking equipment and anything else you think you might need for a camping trip. Best of all you will be cosy and warm with no wet tent to pack away at the end of your stay.
The glamping pod consists of lockable double doors, carpeted flooring, electric heater and lighting with the use of a double plug socket. There is also a small decking area on each of the pods for use as a seating and cooking area. At each pod there is a picnic table exclusively for your use.
Use of the showers blocks and electricity is included. Fishing is separate and tickets can be purchased when you arrive. A Family Glamping Pod can accommodate up to five adults.
Glamping at Sumners Ponds Fishery and Campsite in West Sussex is a unique and beautiful spot set in tranquil countryside amongst 100 acres of lakes, woodland and pasture.
The campsite itself boasts high quality campsite facilities, acres of woodland, a working farm and fishing lakes. All this in a beautiful and secluded setting which is perfect for just relaxing, or for the more active, exploring the many footpaths and safe cycle-ways within and around the site.
Sumners Ponds is an ideal touring base, with many beautiful towns and villages near by. Access to the South Downs National Park and the coast is easy, while Brighton is only half an hour by car and London only one hour away. There really is something for everyone.
The Cafe by the Lake is our restaurant and bar which is open to both those staying on site and the general public. We aim to provide the highest standard of food and service.
When you arrive the Smith family and the team will be here to ensure that your glamping break in West Sussex is as enjoyable as possible. We look forward to welcoming you.

My daughter and I love coming to sumners. We often stay in the pod which is always very well presented. We came in February and even with the heater we were very cold at night but that’s on us for picking February! The staff were super friendly! The receptionist was super nice and even called us prior to arriving to inform us our pod is ready early if we want to come now which we did. We visited the cafe by the lake. The wait for food was long, especially as we only ordered chips at one point but the staff were so nice. The waitress even noticed I was cold without me even mentioning anything and put the fire on near me. That went a long way There isn’t a lot to do and nothing is near by apart from an overpriced village shop but it’s a nice walk to it. We love to feed the pony’s on site and always bring carrots with us. There’s also cows to feed but we didn’t see them this time. We often come in summer and it’s amazing! Our fav spot :)

We stayed in pod 1 foe 2 nights. It was a wonderful break, a great opportunity to take in the beautiful scenery and recharge our batteries. All the facilities are clean, the staff are friendly and helpful. Couldn't ask for more.

Loved the fact that we could all book lodges and pods to meet up as a family weekend.Lovely facilities but wishes the cafe served meals say up to 6pm.Didn’t find any recycling facilities which was a shame but staff and facilities were 5*Fishing relaxing.

I visit summers ponds a lot with my daughter. The staff are always very friendly, it’s easy to get to and always clean and tranquil, even down to the bird sounds in the toilet/shower facilities. My accommodation is always clean and presentable upon arrival. The only negative is there is nothing else to do apart from fish and as we don’t fish It is very boring.. but nice to just be with nature and take a nice walk which is the main point of camping. My daughter absolutely loves the ponies on site, that’s her main focus, we always bring carrots and apples to feed them and it’s honestly the highlight of our trip.

Lovely place for a weekend away with family. Takeaway van on a Friday night a bit expensive for most people on a budget but there are other places to eat out if you want.Staff very friendly and very accommodating.Would recommend this place to anyone.

Service is always welcoming. The bathroom facilities are the best we've ever experienced. The location is great. The accommodation is what it needs to be (waterproof!) And the little garden area is very nice.My only criticism is that for 2 out of the 3 years we've stayed here at this time, there has been building work happening next to us as they put up a new lodge. This has disrupted the peace and quiet which is a shame.

Very welcoming when we arrived, we only had a family pod for 2 nights however loved the stay, only tiny thing that would have been nice(on arrival we didn't get code for toilet block, unfortunately wife needed loo at night).
