Shepherds Hut Glamping at Sumners Ponds offers quirky and beautifully handcrafted huts, ideal for a quick stop over or a romantic glamping weekend in West Sussex. The Shepherds Hut is located on the bank of the Sumners Lake and has a small veranda over the water with seating. The shepherds hut is furnished with a comfy memory foam double bed with clean white linen and cosy throws. There is a rustic table and chairs along with a wood burning stove that will keep the shepherds hut pleasantly warm even through the night.

There is a small fridge for essentials like milk and a kettle along with complimentary tea, coffee and hot chocolate. There aren't any toilet and shower facilities at Bathsheba but the luxury state of the art amenity block is just a minute walk away. Breakfast at The Café by the Lake is included with your stay.

Glamping at Sumners Ponds Fishery and Campsite in West Sussex is a unique and beautiful spot set in tranquil countryside amongst 100 acres of lakes, woodland and pasture.

The campsite itself boasts high quality campsite facilities, acres of woodland, a working farm and fishing lakes. All this in a beautiful and secluded setting which is perfect for just relaxing, or for the more active, exploring the many footpaths and safe cycle-ways within and around the site.

Sumners Ponds is an ideal touring base, with many beautiful towns and villages near by. Access to the South Downs National Park and the coast is easy, while Brighton is only half an hour by car and London only one hour away. There really is something for everyone.

The Cafe by the Lake is our restaurant and bar which is open to both those staying on site and the general public. We aim to provide the highest standard of food and service.

When you arrive the Smith family and the team will be here to ensure that your glamping break in West Sussex is as enjoyable as possible. We look forward to welcoming you.

"Lovely relaxing break"

I stayed in a lovely shepherds hut on the lakeside. It was very comfortable accommodation. The area is full of footpaths through woods, which are particularly beautiful now as there are loads of bluebells! There were a few minor problems, which were due in main to the recent reopening within Covid rules. The site staff were very friendly and helpful and did their best to sort things out quickly and efficiently. It was a bit of a problem that reception was closed between 5pm and 9am, with no sign of how to contact anyone between these hours. Personally, I was not keen on the large noisy fountain in the lake, which caused a constant noise day and night. It seemed unnecessary and a shame in an otherwise peaceful area. Overall, I loved this place and have already recommended it to several friends. I feel it is probably better suited to couples than families, as I'm not sure there is much for children to do around this area.

Fancied a change of scene after lockdown, so booked two nights in the super-cute Gabriel shepherds hut. It sits looking out over one of the fishing lakes, so was very tranquil and calming - and we were visited regularly by ducks and a particular goose, as well as the friendly site cat! The bed was comfy and the log-burning stove was efficient, so we had a cosy comfortable stay. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, and the breakfast baguettes were delicious! Would definitely recommend!

It was absolutely charming, log burner, lovely clean sheets, comfy bed with a barn door to enjoy the view. Breakfast included was excellent, staff were lovely, toilet and washing facilities clean, modern and warm. The only minor niggle was that the toilet was a bit of a trek in the night for those of us, of a certain age! Can't wait to come back in better weather...

We had a lovely stay, the cafe staff were lovely and the food was amazing. The hut was great, right on the lake and just what we needed for our stay. We enjoyed roasting marshmallows on the fire with the kindling, paper and woods supplied by Sumners. We ventured to the Nature Reserve for a walk on one day which was quite fun. It was a shame the children’s play area on site was out of action but that’s Covid-19s fault. The shower facilities are fine. Overall brilliant value for money. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, a great getaway, I’ve recommended Sumners to lots of people already who are now also planning on visiting shortly. We will be back soon, thanks for having us.

"Lovely Short break."

Mr D Broad - Stayed with family, Sep 2020

The shepherds hut was very clean, the bed was comfy, with crisp white sheets. We had a lovely view of the lake, we were close to the amenities but at the same time it felt secluded. The toilet and shower block was immaculate. Couldn't recommend this site enough.

"Great park for fishing."

Mr S Scott - Stayed with partner, Sep 2020

We stayed in a shepherds hut. Was great to have breakfast included, hut was comfortable and warm on a cold night. Can’t fish from this site but not far to somewhere that you can.
