Shepherds Hut Glamping at Sumners Ponds offers quirky and beautifully handcrafted huts, ideal for a quick stop over or a romantic glamping weekend in West Sussex. The Shepherds Hut is located on the bank of the Sumners Lake and has a small veranda over the water with seating. The shepherds hut is furnished with a comfy memory foam double bed with clean white linen and cosy throws. There is a rustic table and chairs along with a wood burning stove that will keep the shepherds hut pleasantly warm even through the night.

There is a small fridge for essentials like milk and a kettle along with complimentary tea, coffee and hot chocolate. There aren't any toilet and shower facilities at Bathsheba but the luxury state of the art amenity block is just a minute walk away. Breakfast at The Café by the Lake is included with your stay.

Glamping at Sumners Ponds Fishery and Campsite in West Sussex is a unique and beautiful spot set in tranquil countryside amongst 100 acres of lakes, woodland and pasture.

The campsite itself boasts high quality campsite facilities, acres of woodland, a working farm and fishing lakes. All this in a beautiful and secluded setting which is perfect for just relaxing, or for the more active, exploring the many footpaths and safe cycle-ways within and around the site.

Sumners Ponds is an ideal touring base, with many beautiful towns and villages near by. Access to the South Downs National Park and the coast is easy, while Brighton is only half an hour by car and London only one hour away. There really is something for everyone.

The Cafe by the Lake is our restaurant and bar which is open to both those staying on site and the general public. We aim to provide the highest standard of food and service.

When you arrive the Smith family and the team will be here to ensure that your glamping break in West Sussex is as enjoyable as possible. We look forward to welcoming you.

"Lovely area and beautiful deck"

Ms Clayton - Stayed with partner, Aug 2017

Had a really great time at the Shepherd's Hut - it was such a perfect location & the deck onto the river was great. The only thing I'd say (and it's really small!) is that there were tea & coffee facilities in the hut but no milk - when I asked at the cafe if I could... Had a really great time at the Shepherd's Hut - it was such a perfect location & the deck onto the river was great. The only thing I'd say (and it's really small!) is that there were tea & coffee facilities in the hut but no milk - when I asked at the cafe if I could have a tiny bit they were a bit rude & made me feel v silly! I was in my PJ's so wasn't going to go to the shop. Only very small, but as we were there for 2 days only it did make the morning feel a bit sour.

"Stayed Twice"

Mrs Roskilly - Stayed with partner, Jul 2017

We've stayed twice now. Once in a pod and once in a shepherds hut. It's great for a weekend get away in a lovely setting. We've fished both times and thoroughly enjoyed the Saturday night live music on our most recent trip, which was a bonus! Shower/toilet facilities... We've stayed twice now. Once in a pod and once in a shepherds hut. It's great for a weekend get away in a lovely setting. We've fished both times and thoroughly enjoyed the Saturday night live music on our most recent trip, which was a bonus! Shower/toilet facilities beautifully clean with bird song piped in! Cafe with fairy lights and view is lovely. My only areas to improve on, although currently far more than satisfactory, are the showers themselves. A big bug bear for many (females!) when camping and i feel the heads could do with being moveable and bigger (lacking omph for washing/rinsing hair!) Secondly breakfast in the Cafe...if someone asks for an item not to be included in their breakfast (without asking to reduce the price) then why wouldn't you (so wasteful to insist on cooking it for it to be thrown away!) All in all...looking forward to our third stay already :-)

"Shepherds hut"

Mrs Stanger - Stayed with partner, May 2017

We stayed in old george shepherds hut for the weekend. Beautiful and cosy romantic weekend break with breakfast included. Shame you cant fish off the veranda as this would have being perfect for my hubby to fish while i stayed inside to read a book while it rained.... We stayed in old george shepherds hut for the weekend. Beautiful and cosy romantic weekend break with breakfast included. Shame you cant fish off the veranda as this would have being perfect for my hubby to fish while i stayed inside to read a book while it rained. Breakfast on the first morning was only warm but dinner was much better. Though we booked a table we were put in what i would call the cafe side and would rather have evening meal near the live entertainment in the restaurant side. We did get moved a little closer but still couldnt see the band. Shame as it was my husbands birthday surprise. Having said all that it didnt dampen our weekend. Would definitely recommend and have done to friend and family. We want to stay again but with the children in the safari tent next time.

Nice shepherds hut in an amazing location. Best shower and toilet facilities I've ever used at a camp site. Great breakfast in a lovely restaurant/bar.
