Peaceful Xmas break

Have stayed twice before in Lily Lodge and this time in Grebe Lodge, and love it. The Christmas tree in the lodges is such a nice touch, and the welcome pack this year was really nice. The staff we have dealt with have all been lovely and helpful. The cafe by the lake was good for breakfast too and the staff there were lovely too. Unfortunately the period we stayed the fishing wasn't too good, but one 20lb carp was caught! We love it so much we've booked again for February.

We’ve stayed at Sumners many times and each visit is pleasurable and lovely. We have stayed in Lilly and Grebe. The lodges are beautiful, clean and well equipped. The site is well maintained and there’s plenty to do, the enclosed dog meadow and wood is great for the furry ones. All the staff are friendly and helpful and cannot do enough for you. Can’t wait to come back in May! Highly recommended for fishing, relaxation and a great holiday.

Lovely break

Really lovely lodge, nice and clean with everything you need for a few days away. The only thing was that the fishing was REALLY hard, and not great for my son who’s 4. We saved a lot of money for this break since my husbands had two types of cancer, and then you have to pay extra to fish other lakes for just an hour or 2 it’s a bit much. There was also an overnight angler to the right of us on the Friday night, who was yelling at us to shut up because our fishing alarm was going off. Can’t help it if we have a fish on! His attitude wasn’t great but thankfully he was gone the next day. Cafe was great to refill the milk, and the welcome cake milk and eggs etc was a lovely gesture.

Highly recommend a stay here

We stayed in Grebe lodge. There was a nice welcome pack waiting for us upon arrival. Milk, bread, jam, butter, bottle of wine and a cake. The lodge was super clean and had a proper bath and shower. The kitchen was well furnished and with the usual mod cons including a dish washer. I am disabled and use crutches to help me walk. The only criticism I have is the fishing platform, steps leading down to it and the walk to the doors of the lodge when wet are really slippery and I did take a minor fall on the platform along with many close shaves. There is a mesh square on the ramp from the car park through the gate but none on the rest if the wood. It would be greatly beneficial to put some mesh or similar material down to aid persons with walking aids to give some grip. All in all we had a great week. Great fishing in Summers Lake and fantastic accommodation. Will definitely go again.

Wonderful atmosphere as soon as you come on site

A pleasure to holiday here if you want a quiet relaxing holiday surrounded by well-managed natural surroundings. Cafe on the Lake is an absolute bonus with super fresh food and a meeting hub for fellow holiday makers. Glebe Lodge was very comfortable, clean and well fitted out - I would just say that I am only 5ft tall with some arthritis and could never, safely, negotiate using the bath/shower, side of bath far too high - perhaps in the interests of general safety a side grab rail would be a good idea? (I had to use a shower elsewhere which wasn't my expectation when booking and paying for the accommodation).

This was our second holiday ith Sumners Ponds - and - despite the weather - enjoyed then both equally. The walks are easy to find and well signposted, the parks surroundings are superb-and service at the Cafe by the Lake is excellent . We do not fish but saw some epic fish being landed.
