Experience camping in a glamping pod at Sumners Ponds Fishery & Campsite. The concept is to bring all your own equipment less the tent – so you need to bring your own bedding including mattress or camp bed, cooking equipment and anything else you think you might need for a camping trip. Best of all you will be cosy and warm with no wet tent to pack away at the end of your stay.

The glamping pod consists of lockable double doors, carpeted flooring, electric heater and lighting with the use of a double plug socket. There is also a small decking area on each of the pods for use as a seating and cooking area. At each pod there is a picnic table exclusively for your use.

Use of the showers blocks and electricity is included. Fishing is separate and tickets can be purchased when you arrive. The Small Lakeside Glamping Pods are located on the Sumners Lake and Farm Pond and can sleep up to two adults and two small children.

Glamping at Sumners Ponds Fishery and Campsite in West Sussex is a unique and beautiful spot set in tranquil countryside amongst 100 acres of lakes, woodland and pasture.

The campsite itself boasts high quality campsite facilities, acres of woodland, a working farm and fishing lakes. All this in a beautiful and secluded setting which is perfect for just relaxing, or for the more active, exploring the many footpaths and safe cycle-ways within and around the site.

Sumners Ponds is an ideal touring base, with many beautiful towns and villages near by. Access to the South Downs National Park and the coast is easy, while Brighton is only half an hour by car and London only one hour away. There really is something for everyone.

The Cafe by the Lake is our restaurant and bar which is open to both those staying on site and the general public. We aim to provide the highest standard of food and service.

When you arrive the Smith family and the team will be here to ensure that your glamping break in West Sussex is as enjoyable as possible. We look forward to welcoming you.

"Beautiful location"

Mr T Rogers - Stayed with family, Nov 2021

Always enjoy the site when we stay. It’s just a shame about the play park being small considering the space, it could do with maybe two or three play parks or one large play park area. It’s just a shame about the play park being small considering the space, it could do with maybe two or three play parks or one large play park area. The cafe was the most disappointing part of the stay as it’s closed in the evenings and just looks like the site have given up on it. The cafe used to be very welcoming with some type of entertainment in the evenings. During our stay it stopped serving food at 16:00 and despite being told it would be open for drinks until 21:00 it wasn’t, it closed at 16:00. The umbrellas outside were down, no heating was on even during the day inside or out. The advertisement on the park site and all around is about the cafe by the lake and fishing. Although I’m sure the fishing is good the cafe is In need of some investment and needs to be open in the evenings at least.

"3rd trip"

Mrs C Baldry - Stayed with family, Jul 2021

This is our 3rd visit to the camping pods at Summers Pond. We came last year during covid times and again last month. As usual, the location is spot on and the beauty of the lake is something that pulls us back. Again due to covid we could not hire fishing rods!!!... This is our 3rd visit to the camping pods at Summers Pond. We came last year during covid times and again last month. As usual, the location is spot on and the beauty of the lake is something that pulls us back. Again due to covid we could not hire fishing rods!!! It’s baffling really. We came after ‘freedom day’ when restrictions should have eased more yet they can not hire out rods and then spray them down for the next use. It’s disappointing and should be highlighted more on the website or in the emails. The cafe by the lake also did not open on either nights we were there. It’s the summer holidays so in my opinion should always be open. The site was busy and full so should be open to cater for people. It’s the little things like this that let us down each time.

We've stayed at Sumners Pond before using all kinds of accommodation, ie. camped in tents, stayed in caravan, stayed in Moorhen Lodge and thus time we stayed in a small Camping Pod on Farmers Pond. The pod is just what you expect....it is small but enough for two. I recommend you do not take lots of stuff unless the weather is guaranteed to be nice and you can leave it outside. The pod also gets very warm in the summer, there is a small window that you can open but not much air gets in. However, this is the only negative thing I have to say. Sumners Pond is an excellent place to stay with beautiful surroundings, spotlessly clean shower facilities, a very relaxing environment and we will definitely be returning.

We stayed in a lakeside camping pod this time, totally recommend if you like camping but not the hassle of putting a tent up and the bonus of heat and light! Well thought out with a little jetty and garden next to it, really peaceful and relaxing. Toilet facilities are lovely and clean, loved the accompanying birdsong... Unfortunately the cafe was limited due to lack of staff, we were a bit disappointed that we couldn't get a proper breakfast, only takeaway baguettes, and would have been nice if the bar was open past 4pm. Other than that, fabulous, we'll be back!
