Sumners Ponds Fishery & Campsite
Sleeps
up to 4 |
1 Bedroom |
Suitable for Families | Pet Friendly | Instant Booking |
Experience camping in a glamping pod at Sumners Ponds Fishery & Campsite. The concept is to bring all your own equipment less the tent – so you need to bring your own bedding including mattress or camp bed, cooking equipment and anything else you think you might need for a camping trip. Best of all you will be cosy and warm with no wet tent to pack away at the end of your stay.
The glamping pod consists of lockable double doors, carpeted flooring, electric heater and lighting with the use of a double plug socket. There is also a small decking area on each of the pods for use as a seating and cooking area. At each pod there is a picnic table exclusively for your use.
Use of the showers blocks and electricity is included. Fishing is separate and tickets can be purchased when you arrive. The Small Lakeside Glamping Pods are located on the Sumners Lake and Farm Pond and can sleep up to two adults and two small children.
Glamping at Sumners Ponds Fishery and Campsite in West Sussex is a unique and beautiful spot set in tranquil countryside amongst 100 acres of lakes, woodland and pasture.
The campsite itself boasts high quality campsite facilities, acres of woodland, a working farm and fishing lakes. All this in a beautiful and secluded setting which is perfect for just relaxing, or for the more active, exploring the many footpaths and safe cycle-ways within and around the site.
Sumners Ponds is an ideal touring base, with many beautiful towns and villages near by. Access to the South Downs National Park and the coast is easy, while Brighton is only half an hour by car and London only one hour away. There really is something for everyone.
The Cafe by the Lake is our restaurant and bar which is open to both those staying on site and the general public. We aim to provide the highest standard of food and service.
When you arrive the Smith family and the team will be here to ensure that your glamping break in West Sussex is as enjoyable as possible. We look forward to welcoming you.

My pod on arrival was very clean. Fishing was excellent. Only down part was that the step down from the top deck to the bottom deck was rather steep so would be tricky for an elderly person on their own.

This my son & mines 3rd visit & we’ve loved it every time, because we base our visit on angling.. But noticed a few more new lakeside dwellings being built.. (Which I feel are very expensive) I have considered booking for my family.. but the very high prices have put me off. I also think Sumners Lake requires more stock of fish if you are hoping to attract the more social angler & not the specimen hunter.

Good fun but a tight fit for 2 adults and a 12 y/o. Fishing platform tight for 2 rods and overgrown in places made fishing difficult but still managed to catch plenty. Toilets and showers cleanest I have ever seen, just a pleasure to use.

When we stayed in a hub the gap between the two doors was so big I had to stuff kitchen towel to fill the gap. The heater was on full and didn’t keep us warm due to this problem. We didn’t stay the second night because of this , we were very cold!

Sumners was perfect as it only takes us ten minutes to drive from home and we had a lovely cozy pod with heating. My husband could fish 24 hours from the pod's swim and there are lovely walks for the dog too. There is an excellent cafe where we highly recommend the food (we particularly loved the breakfast and the pulled pork on chips!) We also had our own garden area with a picnic table. I was particularly impressed with the shower/toilet facilities which were immaculate, and lovely and warm. Also great to have somewhere to do the washing up. The Staff are very helpful and friendly. We have booked again next month and the following month! Who needs to abroad!

Normally we stay in a tent but even I’m not brave enough to camp in January. When we arrived the pod was clean and warm and ready for us to use. The reception staffed welcomed us and gave all the information we needed. Our stuff felt safe inside the locked pod, there’s enough privacy to feel like you’re not being watched over but with the other pods across the water you don’t feel alone.
