Suitable for Families | Pet Friendly | Instant Booking |
Experience camping in a glamping pod at Sumners Ponds Fishery & Campsite. The concept is to bring all your own equipment less the tent – so you need to bring your own bedding including mattress or camp bed, cooking equipment and anything else you think you might need for a camping trip. Best of all you will be cosy and warm with no wet tent to pack away at the end of your stay.
The glamping pod consists of lockable double doors, carpeted flooring, electric heater and lighting with the use of a double plug socket. There is also a small decking area on each of the pods for use as a seating and cooking area. At each pod there is a picnic table exclusively for your use.
Use of the showers blocks and electricity is included. Fishing is separate and tickets can be purchased when you arrive. The Small Lakeside Glamping Pods are located on the Sumners Lake and Farm Pond and can sleep up to two adults and two small children.
Glamping at Sumners Ponds Fishery and Campsite in West Sussex is a unique and beautiful spot set in tranquil countryside amongst 100 acres of lakes, woodland and pasture.
The campsite itself boasts high quality campsite facilities, acres of woodland, a working farm and fishing lakes. All this in a beautiful and secluded setting which is perfect for just relaxing, or for the more active, exploring the many footpaths and safe cycle-ways within and around the site.
Sumners Ponds is an ideal touring base, with many beautiful towns and villages near by. Access to the South Downs National Park and the coast is easy, while Brighton is only half an hour by car and London only one hour away. There really is something for everyone.
The Cafe by the Lake is our restaurant and bar which is open to both those staying on site and the general public. We aim to provide the highest standard of food and service.
When you arrive the Smith family and the team will be here to ensure that your glamping break in West Sussex is as enjoyable as possible. We look forward to welcoming you.

Such a peaceful spot. The restaurant was very nice and tasty. Our stay in one of the little pods for the night was romantic and a perfect little night away.

Been here twice now, its a lovely place with great facilities - however upon checking in i was told that the lovely cafe(which swayed my decision to stop over here for a little break) was not open. I did not see this on the website anywhere to notify before i booked, i was very disappointed as we didn’t want to drive anywhere to go for dinn er or drinks - we ended up going to the local pub and it was lovely - but it should be somewhere warning you that it is closed before you make the decision to book.

We stayed in Pod 3 which had a heater, lights and plug sockets. It also had a private picnic area to cook. The surroundings were very peaceful with the lakes, farm animals and woodland. The staff were friendly and helpful and the toilets and shower blocks were cleaned regularly. To improve the experience the fishing platforms could be larger in order for two people to fish more comfortably. We would have also preferred if the cafe was open later as food orders closed at 15:00 and the cafe shut at 16:00. Therefore, we had to go to the local pub for dinner or get take away which was not always ideal.

There is a shop and a pub The Queens head about a five minute walk away. We had a evening meal in the pub it was delicious.

We stayed in a camping pod and find them perfect for us. Really useful to have a warm, dry pod ready and waiting. The pod locations are also excellent and offer lots of privacy. The campsite and facilities were absolutely spotless as usual. Top tip that I only realised at the end of our stay was that there is a fridge and freezer in the washing up room which is useful to keeping food fresh or refreezing ice blocks for the cooler. Lots of great places locally. Highly recommend the Bax Castle pub for pizzas and their excellent bouncy castles to keep the kids entertained.

Quaint , basic , small lamp with spare plug - came in super handy for phone charging and kettle. Had a lovely feel on arrival, pod was clean. Loved cooking outdoors, convenient for fishing , little disappointed you couldn’t get on Sumners Lake, reserved for members only and guest staying on that lake. Restaurant cooked lovely wholesome food. Coffee fantastic! Staff amazing considering staff down. Polite and helpful. Fairly priced for cooked breakfast, nice quality sausages, bacon n eggs. Pizza night was good. Toilets and showers were spotless and always smelt pleasant in hallway. Would definitely stay again , got us right back into camping , something my husband and I haven’t done since childhood ! Back to basics fun

We had hoped that my wife and myself could fish at the same time but the size of the fishing platform was too small and very close to the pod. Which meant that only one of us could fish and when I used the landing net, which almost constantly, my wife had to move from her chair in front of the pod. The area where the bench is situated is around the side of the pod which is a nice sized area Unfortunately the car parking space allocated for pod3 is not next to the pod. We were lucky that when we arrived the large camping area's for camper vans was empty so we parked behind the pod to unload but was soon told that we had to move our car to the allocated space for pod3, which is situated in the main car park area. We stayed Sunday to Tuesday, shame the lakeside cafe, bar shut at 4pm on Monday's. A trip to the local shop just down the road sorted that problem, with a bottle of wine included. Small pod on SumnersWed page is NOT p
