Experience camping in a glamping pod at Sumners Ponds Fishery & Campsite. The concept is to bring all your own equipment less the tent – so you need to bring your own bedding including mattress or camp bed, cooking equipment and anything else you think you might need for a camping trip. Best of all you will be cosy and warm with no wet tent to pack away at the end of your stay.

The glamping pod consists of lockable double doors, carpeted flooring, electric heater and lighting with the use of a double plug socket. There is also a small decking area on each of the pods for use as a seating and cooking area. At each pod there is a picnic table exclusively for your use.

Use of the showers blocks and electricity is included. Fishing is separate and tickets can be purchased when you arrive. The Small Lakeside Glamping Pods are located on the Sumners Lake and Farm Pond and can sleep up to two adults and two small children.

Glamping at Sumners Ponds Fishery and Campsite in West Sussex is a unique and beautiful spot set in tranquil countryside amongst 100 acres of lakes, woodland and pasture.

The campsite itself boasts high quality campsite facilities, acres of woodland, a working farm and fishing lakes. All this in a beautiful and secluded setting which is perfect for just relaxing, or for the more active, exploring the many footpaths and safe cycle-ways within and around the site.

Sumners Ponds is an ideal touring base, with many beautiful towns and villages near by. Access to the South Downs National Park and the coast is easy, while Brighton is only half an hour by car and London only one hour away. There really is something for everyone.

The Cafe by the Lake is our restaurant and bar which is open to both those staying on site and the general public. We aim to provide the highest standard of food and service.

When you arrive the Smith family and the team will be here to ensure that your glamping break in West Sussex is as enjoyable as possible. We look forward to welcoming you.

"Was disappointed with the swim outside the pod. The table was very dirty. I don’t think it was worth the money"

S Cleverley - Stayed with partner, Sep 2023

I’ve stayed here on a couple of occasions with family and loved the lodge and camping grounds but the pod was a huge disappointment. We left a day early

We really liked Sumners Pond. The only slight negatives for us were: - Cafe closing early Sunday to Wednesday (our visit was Monday and Tuesday) - The fishing spot from the pod was only suitable for one person and the tree were not adequately cut back making casting a challenge for less experienced fishermen. Other than that, it was really good.

Very nice, clean site, just the fishing in sumners lake has let it down the past year or so We have stayed in Pod 5, six times over the years, the fishing has gone down hill in sumners lake for some reason, for the last 2/3 times we have been, has been disappointing as when we first started to come we were getting a lot of great runs and fish, for some reason the last year or so has been totally dead barley getting a bite day or night, I have been fishing for 20years and really not sure why this has happened in this lake

Always smelt pleasant in the block . Staff are brilliant at keeping on top of not so tidy guests. Lovely little birds tweeting through a speaker gives a nice touch. Friendly staff in the restaurant, good quality breakfast . Restaurant stays open until 9 serving cocktails n beverages. Closes at 3 for food. Although the food vans are excellent.. prices what you’d expect but the food quality.. perfect . Only ate the pizzas and fried chicken, portion sizes of the chicken exceeded expectations could have easily shared… beautiful moist n tasty .. otherwise cooked outside , plenty of room to do so and washing up facility near the shower/toilet block. Surroundings are well maintained however a few of the trees could do with a topping out. We stayed in one of the pods , room inside for a double blowup bed. All you need for a back to basics “down to earth “fishing break. Highly recommend

Greeted by friendly receptionists, very informative. Site so clean and well maintained. Shower/ toilet blocks excellent. Kept so clean and tidy, staff very cheerful and helpful. Was slightly disappointed bar/ cafe area not open for drinks or food after 4pm, but can fully understand pressures of staff wages, food costs and waste. Great idea having burger and pizza cans visit site. Stayed on site with family. Us in fishing pod and them in tent. Great family time together, fishing and having fun. Making plans to return and make more happy memories.

There was not enough room with the trees enclosing on the swimpod 3 as it is only suitable for one angler unless tree work carried out, and we took in turns to fish. Apart from that beautiful site with great facilities and will be back but a different pod or the work carried out. We were more match anglers than carp so quite busy. Overall though loved the site and only 20 mins from where we live 😁
