Experience camping in a family glamping pod at Sumners Ponds Fishery & Campsite. The concept is to bring all your own equipment less the tent – so you need to bring your own bedding including mattress or camp bed, cooking equipment and anything else you think you might need for a camping trip. Best of all you will be cosy and warm with no wet tent to pack away at the end of your stay.

The glamping pod consists of lockable double doors, carpeted flooring, electric heater and lighting with the use of a double plug socket. There is also a small decking area on each of the pods for use as a seating and cooking area. At each pod there is a picnic table exclusively for your use.

Use of the showers blocks and electricity is included. Fishing is separate and tickets can be purchased when you arrive. A Family Glamping Pod can accommodate up to five adults.

Glamping at Sumners Ponds Fishery and Campsite in West Sussex is a unique and beautiful spot set in tranquil countryside amongst 100 acres of lakes, woodland and pasture.

The campsite itself boasts high quality campsite facilities, acres of woodland, a working farm and fishing lakes. All this in a beautiful and secluded setting which is perfect for just relaxing, or for the more active, exploring the many footpaths and safe cycle-ways within and around the site.

Sumners Ponds is an ideal touring base, with many beautiful towns and villages near by. Access to the South Downs National Park and the coast is easy, while Brighton is only half an hour by car and London only one hour away. There really is something for everyone.

The Cafe by the Lake is our restaurant and bar which is open to both those staying on site and the general public. We aim to provide the highest standard of food and service.

When you arrive the Smith family and the team will be here to ensure that your glamping break in West Sussex is as enjoyable as possible. We look forward to welcoming you.

Lovely site, we come a couple of times a year and have stayed in pods, lodges and our own tent. Always have a great time. The toilet blocks are really nice and clean.

"Another Lovely Weekend"

Gellett - Stayed with family, Aug 2020

Another lovely stay at Sumners, our Pod was exceptionally clean as always, the wash facilities were constantly being cleaned .. hand sanitizers available in many places. Reduced Cafe hours you just need to be aware of

"Not the same"

Being told on arrival the cafe will open that evening and then again an hour later in the bar did not bode well when it did not open at all that evening. It was a very hot few days so not opening when they were busy is madness. We also couldn’t hire fishing rods this time round. Is this really Covid related? Surely they can be sprayed down after each use. Seems like corners are being cut and using Covid as an excuse. Park area for kids was also closed yet the was bathroom area is fine to use and share. Doesn’t make any sense.

We recently stayed for two nights to celebrate our first wedding anniversary, we wanted to go somewhere sweet and somewhere that we were able to take our dogs with us. I had visited the Cafe On The Lake, the year before and loved it. We stayed in one of the pods which was a good size. It had a big floor space, a light, a double plug socket, outside picnic bench, outside light, privacy fence and a car space. - It was well kept and very clean. The whole of the grounds are beautifully kept and clean. The cafe is lovely, a very sweet spot. There is also a lovely/friendly pub across the road (which is also dog friendly). I have to stress how clean the toilet/shower block is, it didn't feel like we were camping! All of the staff that we came across were friendly and helpful. The dogs loved all of the walks too. We have recommended Sumners Pond to everybody and we can't wait to visit again.

"Great place with great restaurant"

M Jarvis - Stayed with family, Dec 2019

It’s a lovely location with all the lakes and the surrounding woodland area. It is safe and good for children (apart from the lakes I guess!). The playground for the children was a bit muddy but it is the middle of winter. The restaurant and bar area is lovely. Only... It’s a lovely location with all the lakes and the surrounding woodland area. It is safe and good for children (apart from the lakes I guess!). The playground for the children was a bit muddy but it is the middle of winter. The restaurant and bar area is lovely. Only complaint… The oil filled radiator that was supplied in our accommodation would struggle to warm up a small cupboard never mind the family pod we were in. I assumed it would be fit for purpose from my booking confirmation but it was not. Especially with small children, I would definitely bring your own our own heater.
