Sumners Ponds Fishery & Campsite
Sleeps

Suitable for Families | Instant Booking |
Experience camping in a family glamping pod at Sumners Ponds Fishery & Campsite. The concept is to bring all your own equipment less the tent – so you need to bring your own bedding including mattress or camp bed, cooking equipment and anything else you think you might need for a camping trip. Best of all you will be cosy and warm with no wet tent to pack away at the end of your stay.
The glamping pod consists of lockable double doors, carpeted flooring, electric heater and lighting with the use of a double plug socket. There is also a small decking area on each of the pods for use as a seating and cooking area. At each pod there is a picnic table exclusively for your use.
Use of the showers blocks and electricity is included. Fishing is separate and tickets can be purchased when you arrive. A Family Glamping Pod can accommodate up to five adults.
Glamping at Sumners Ponds Fishery and Campsite in West Sussex is a unique and beautiful spot set in tranquil countryside amongst 100 acres of lakes, woodland and pasture.
The campsite itself boasts high quality campsite facilities, acres of woodland, a working farm and fishing lakes. All this in a beautiful and secluded setting which is perfect for just relaxing, or for the more active, exploring the many footpaths and safe cycle-ways within and around the site.
Sumners Ponds is an ideal touring base, with many beautiful towns and villages near by. Access to the South Downs National Park and the coast is easy, while Brighton is only half an hour by car and London only one hour away. There really is something for everyone.
The Cafe by the Lake is our restaurant and bar which is open to both those staying on site and the general public. We aim to provide the highest standard of food and service.
When you arrive the Smith family and the team will be here to ensure that your glamping break in West Sussex is as enjoyable as possible. We look forward to welcoming you.

Family camping pod was good size for our family of 3, and also our friends family of 4. Nice and warm, the bathrooms across the bridge are very good and kept clean. The restaurant is also very good.

Had a great time at this campsite, excellent facilities. Stayed in a family pod which comfortably slept 3 adults, not sure there would be enough room for 5 as stated on the website.

Unfortunately due to a genuine error on my part, our booking was incorrectly made for the previous week. Upon realising this error and phoning reception I was told there was nothing you could do to accommodate us for the nights we thought we had booked and although you did offer an alternative you wanted us to pay again. It was a genuine error and now we have lost our £120 and our chance of a summer holiday as we are not entitled to a refund. You were provided with two telephone numbers and an email address but no one contacted us. As a suggestion wouldnt be nice to send a reminder email to your customers a day before their planned stay not only to welcome them but to remind them of their booking and your t’s&c’s. Isnt that just good customer care and makes people feel like theyre valued customers?! We have previously already booked and paid to stay again at the end of August and wish we hadn’t bothered as feel the treatment we have received is unfair and has left us not really wanting to come. Upon booking I emailed to say the dates we were staying and to enquire about dogs around the fishing lake and received absolutely no response. I am very sad to have to leave this review as I have enjoyed visiting sumners for many years but never stayed and my partner, who has never been to you before, was going to spend even more money with you and go fishing on the lakes. We appreciate this was my error but the manner in which you have handled things has left a very sour taste.

We arrived with our baby and unfortunately had to go out and buy a hoover to clean the camping pod prior to unpacking - the floor and wood surround where much too dirty for a baby to crawl around there. We have booked again and would hope that the floor will have been hoovered before we arrive. The entrance to the pod was also very dirty and could be improved. Other than that, we loved it and thought the pods were a great alternative to putting a tent up. Thank you

Unfortunately you are extremely close to your ‘neighbors ‘ and when they are a large group (in excess of 20) and start drinking at lunchtime through till midnight it is impossible to relax and enjoy the location. We left a day early.
