Churchwood Valley is a beautiful, natural wooded valley running down to the sea at Wembury Bay in South Devon, near Plymouth. Look closely and, hidden among the lush green foliage, you’ll see wooden cabins nestling on the hillside.

Each holiday cabin has its own plot on the hillside, surrounded by trees, flowering shrubs, hedges and rustic fences. All our cabins have views across the valley, with some looking out over the water meadow or towards the sea.

There’s a car parking space near each cabin and private roads and paths give access to the beach, an unspoiled stretch of rock pools and shingle with sand at low tide. Adjoining National Trust land, the beach is no more than a 10-minute stroll away from any of the cabins.

Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome in each cabin for a small charge, there are dog exercise areas on site and plenty of space for canine roaming locally.

This larger A6+ cabin can sleep six and has a double bed in the main bedroom, twin beds in the second bedroom and a double bed settee in the lounge. The bathroom has a full size bath and shower over. The fully equipped kitchen includes a washing machine and dishwasher. In the open plan living area, a TV with DVD player is provided for added entertainment. Sliding patio doors open onto a paved patio.

A haven of peace within an environmental paradise, Churchwood Valley is a few minutes’ walk from a safe family beach and the South West Coast Path.

If ‘getting away from it all’ is the most important part of your holiday – Churchwood Valley is for you. Each holiday cabin is nestled within the woodland. By moving no further than your armchair, you’ll see delightful displays of birdlife, and a trip to your private patio may well afford a glimpse of badgers, foxes, squirrels, and other wildlife.

There are no discos, bars, or cafes – just rock pools, wildlife, and breathtaking scenery. Secluded it may be, isolated it is not. Churchwood’s licensed shop sells a wide range of food and drink, beach toys, gifts, and many other products, so you don’t even need to leave the site for those ‘essential’ items. We also have a fully equipped launderette. If you feel the need for a more extensive shop, or have a taste for the bright lights, the city of Plymouth is just a 20 minute drive away.

Wonderful all over again!

We have stayed at Churchwood on and off over many years.Each time no matter what time of year weather etc it never disappoints. Beautifully clean, cosy well appointed cabins set in an idyllic valley, leading to the exquisite sea shore make for a perfect holiday.Whether with little ones or just an adult holiday it’s Churchwood Valley every time!

Once again a lovely family holiday.

Our cabin was clean, well equipped, a lovely view and all the extras we had requested were there waiting for us.We spent the majority of our time on the beach enjoying the sand and sea. We went for a couple if walks to the "rocket house".The children enjoyed the well equipped playground and the older one had two enjoyable rides with Wembury Bay riding school. My moth trap was used and caught a number of moths which were new to me. I have a general interest in nature but am in no means expert in any field. The children enjoyed the variety of birds which came to the seed we put out ----and the squirrels. My bat detector also got some use.All in all we had a lovely family holiday.

Tranquil and beautiful place

This is the perfect place to recharge the batteries and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. It’s rare to visit a holiday park where the cabins or caravans aren’t crammed in but here we had total privacy and could just enjoy the view of the trees, and could just about catch a glimpse of the sea on a clear day. The staff are all helpful and friendly and the shop well-stocked. Beach nearby is small and not really sandy but very picturesque. I will definitely try to return asap.

Cosy cabin, close to the beach, peaceful surroundings

The cabin is fabulous. It is brilliantly located on the peaceful site and had everything we needed. We loved being able to walk to the beach so easily, and it was great to be able to bring our little dog on holiday. The price was really competitive, which was very much appreciated. It was clean and had everything we needed.

Absoloutly loved our stay. The lodge was very clean and tidy very spacious. Excellent location for the beach and a short walk from the shop.Had daily visits from all different birds and squirrels which made the kids holiday!Can not wait to come back!
