Churchwood Valley is a beautiful, natural wooded valley running down to the sea at Wembury Bay in South Devon, near Plymouth. Look closely and, hidden among the lush green foliage, you’ll see wooden cabins nestling on the hillside.

Each holiday cabin has its own plot on the hillside, surrounded by trees, flowering shrubs, hedges and rustic fences. All our cabins have views across the valley, with some looking out over the water meadow or towards the sea.

There’s a car parking space near each cabin and private roads and paths give access to the beach, an unspoiled stretch of rock pools and shingle with sand at low tide. Adjoining National Trust land, the beach is no more than a 10-minute stroll away from any of the cabins.

Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome in each cabin for a small charge, there are dog exercise areas on site and plenty of space for canine roaming locally.

This compact cabin is great for two people and comes with a double bedroom and shower cubicle.

The cabin also comes with a modern fitted kitchen with integrated appliances, an under-counter fridge and microwave, and a TV with DVD player. Located in the centre of the site, this A2 cabin has a peaceful and private patio and is frequently visited by wildlife on the park.

A haven of peace within an environmental paradise, Churchwood Valley is a few minutes’ walk from a safe family beach and the South West Coast Path.

If ‘getting away from it all’ is the most important part of your holiday – Churchwood Valley is for you. Each holiday cabin is nestled within the woodland. By moving no further than your armchair, you’ll see delightful displays of birdlife, and a trip to your private patio may well afford a glimpse of badgers, foxes, squirrels, and other wildlife.

There are no discos, bars, or cafes – just rock pools, wildlife, and breathtaking scenery. Secluded it may be, isolated it is not. Churchwood’s licensed shop sells a wide range of food and drink, beach toys, gifts, and many other products, so you don’t even need to leave the site for those ‘essential’ items. We also have a fully equipped launderette. If you feel the need for a more extensive shop, or have a taste for the bright lights, the city of Plymouth is just a 20 minute drive away.

This was our second stay at Churchwood. It is a peaceful haven, remote yet easy to travel to and from. Love the proximity to the beach and the cafe, and the cabins have everything you need for a relaxing stay. Thank you.

Lovely location, basic wooden cabin, it’s not the height of luxury and the tv is tiny but we enjoyed it, perfect for dog walks !! Would like to return in the summer

A different experience

Staff very helpful, I arrived in the dark and got lost, they very helpfully found me and showed me how to get to my accommodation.It’s a very different experience for me, like living among the trees and in the wilderness, with lovely views.Very quiet, apart from the odd squirrels walking over the roof.Really enjoyed my stay. Peace and quiet!

I stayed for a couple of nights in late October, the place was obviously very quiet at that time of year with the weather being horrendous. It was great, I could sit outside my cabin and only hear the birds and the wind! I really enjoyed my two nights of secluded silence away from the madness! Staff were very friendly and helpful, would recommend to anyone!

If you are a creature of nature . This is the perfect getaway. The scenic views of the woods and total peace and quiet. It has amazing walks down to the beach and a very beautiful rustic café where you can chill for a bite to eat or just a coffee.

The cabin is very clean and comfortable. The bathroom is very clean and modern. There's a lovely campsite shop where you can stock up most things.The park is well kept and beautiful walks.The staff are very friendly and can't do enough for you there is a visitors room where you can loan books dad's and games if board but most of all its the most tranquil place we have visited.

Amazing peaceful place

We had an amazing stay, such a beautiful peaceful place to stay. Loved watching the squirrels and birds from pur lodge window. We stayed in the A2 Lodge, lots of places to visit a short car drive away, We loved exploring the area and relaxing in the lodge. Everything we needed to cook our meals in the kitchen . Lovely friendly helpful staff. The only issued we had was the matress was too hard even after asking for a matress topper before we arrived, this was unfortunate as my partner suffers from a bad back.

If you want Peace and Quiet this the Place for you

It is a lovely place to stay. This is the second time we have been here. Great for walking. Also the beach is 5 minute walk. Very small roads. Very friendly people on site.There is a little shop. Plus down at the beach there is a small cafe. I would say if you have a disabilty you would possibly need to use your car for the beach and local pubs.
