Churchwood Valley is a beautiful peaceful place to stay. The staff we encountered were all very helpful and friendly. It is an ideal spot if you want to just park your car and walk around the area and along the coastal footpaths. The beach is just a 10 minute walk away. The accommodation was very comfortable. The cabin was well thought out with all of the essentials you would need. The information booklet in the cabin was excellent. The coastal footpaths in the area offer stunning views of the channel. The valley is full of birds too, the birdsong was lovely. Definitely a peaceful retreat, we we will definitely return to.

We love this place! 3rd time we’ve stayed here in 12yrs. Always with 2 big chilled dogs. Fact the area is so quiet, so close to nature & has lots of beautiful walks on our doorstep is a big plus! Birds are lovely. Beaches/cliffs..great walks. Wifi so much better this year than previous which, was a welcomed surprise. Well managed & communicated instructions. Could have done with shop being open/stocked up of fresh foods but early season & got by, by walking down to local shop/having dinner at a lovely local pub. The only improvement opportunities we commented on:- blinds in lounge & kitchen very dirty / need replacing (bedroom ones lovely)- garden area could do with a ‘gate’ to secure private area & give some degree of privacy, we had a few people look directly into our lounge area & had to pull the patio curtain across for privacy. Appreciate the openness of these areas/trying to keep the fencing natural looking but other cabins had privacy gate & would also aid dog/child safety

Self catering in a peaceful environment was just what we needed. Well equipped spotless chalet and friendly staffHighly recommended

The A2+ cabin we had was spotlessly clean and was equipped with everything we needed. We know the locality quite well as my mother lived at Wembury Point for 18 years and regular trips to see her always included walks along the coast path to Wembury beach. The shop wasn’t open during our visit which wasn’t a problem for us as we ate out every night. I recommend the Mussel Inn in Down Thomas and the Mount Batten bar is very good value for money. The site itself is in a lovely location and we were visited by numerous different wild birds, and squirrels.

Spotless and comfortable as usual.Kitted out with everything we needed.Family in the village so didn't use restaurants.Got fuel and some supplies from Asda which is very close.Visited Royal William Yard and The Box (museum) in Plymouth.Went to Golf Range nr. Sherford with grandchildren; enjoyed by all.

Our lodge was perfect, except a dirty bath that had not been cleaned. When leaving lodge I did inform them, of this issue and they apologised on this incident.

This was our 4th time here, our 2nd time with our dog. We keep coming back because its so quite, in the middle of nature and is so comfy & cosy. I basically spent a whole week watching blue tits, robins, crows, squirrels and - for the first time this year - even a weasel. Its close enough to Plymouth for everything to be handy, and there a loads of nice walks & beaches around to enjoy.

We booked a last minute short break not having visited Churchwood before.We arrived after reception had closed but our key and a map were left out for us as promised. The site is on a wooded hillside which gives a real feeling of peace and was very quiet too. Our chalet was super clean, it was furnished simply but thoughtfully and the bed was comfortable.The only thing missing which we thought would be good to include was some hand soap.

The chalet was perfect; clean and well appointed for me and my wife. Wembury beach was fairly close and the coastal path was a delight to walk along. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming and our short stay was very enjoyable. Will definitely be back

Been coming here on and off since 1972, I highly recommend it, if you prefer the quieter way of life, without nightlife. Lovely cabins in amongst the trees on a hillside with your own garden. All of the cabins are spread out, so you don’t feel overlooked. 10 min walk to the sea, lovely walks all around. Can be hard walking up hills, but you can drive to the beach to their own private car park. There’s a shop for the necessities if you need them.
