Churchwood Valley Holiday Cabins
Sleeps
up to 6 |
3 Bedroom |
Suitable for Families | WIFI Available | Pet Friendly | Instant Booking |
Churchwood Valley is a beautiful, natural wooded valley running down to the sea at Wembury Bay in South Devon, near Plymouth. Look closely and, hidden among the lush green foliage, you’ll see wooden cabins nestling on the hillside.
Each holiday cabin has its own plot on the hillside, surrounded by trees, flowering shrubs, hedges and rustic fences. All our cabins have views across the valley, with some looking out over the water meadow or towards the sea.
There’s a car parking space near each cabin and private roads and paths give access to the beach, an unspoiled stretch of rock pools and shingle with sand at low tide. Adjoining National Trust land, the beach is no more than a 10-minute stroll away from any of the cabins.
Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome in each cabin for a small charge, there are dog exercise areas on site and plenty of space for canine roaming locally.
Oak Lodge is a 3-bedroom luxury lodge in a fabulous setting between High Road and Middle Road, giving spectacular views of the sea all year round! Very spacious, Oak Lodge sleeps six in one double and two twin bedrooms. Bathroom, plus master en-suite. There is a spacious open plan living area, a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine. Patio doors and two garden areas ensure great views of wildlife as well as the surrounding scenery.
A haven of peace within an environmental paradise, Churchwood Valley is a few minutes’ walk from a safe family beach and the South West Coast Path.
If ‘getting away from it all’ is the most important part of your holiday – Churchwood Valley is for you. Each holiday cabin is nestled within the woodland. By moving no further than your armchair, you’ll see delightful displays of birdlife, and a trip to your private patio may well afford a glimpse of badgers, foxes, squirrels, and other wildlife.
There are no discos, bars, or cafes – just rock pools, wildlife, and breathtaking scenery. Secluded it may be, isolated it is not. Churchwood’s licensed shop sells a wide range of food and drink, beach toys, gifts, and many other products, so you don’t even need to leave the site for those ‘essential’ items. We also have a fully equipped launderette. If you feel the need for a more extensive shop, or have a taste for the bright lights, the city of Plymouth is just a 20 minute drive away.

We stayed in Oak Lodge which was immaculate and has all the facilities you need for a laid back stress free holiday. We loved that you could just walk to the beautiful clean Wembury beach in 5 minutes! Our grand children (5 and 7) loved visiting the Churchwood shop and information/play room and made friends with the free range chicken (and Tom) who were often about. Churchwood has a feeling of been at one with nature with butterflies and birds constantly around when you sit out on the wooden deck admiring the view out to the chuch and sea beyond. A truely magical place. Tom and his team have got it just right and I can't think of anything I would change. We will be back!!!

The other year we stayed in an A6+, this year we went all in with one of the top lodges. It was very nice indeed. The weather was not the best, but you cannot guarantee that. The walking in the area is great, some very nice beaches nearby and excellent ones, South Milton Sands, a bit further away. Plymouth has nightlife if you want it. You have to remember though the main appeal to us is the fact that this is an ideal chill out holiday. No leisure facilities on sight. All the leisure activities are natural and in the open air and surrounding countryside. I love it, reading a book, no hurry to do anything in a well appointed log cabin, with a private patio, chairs etc, if the sun does come out and in our case this year a view of the sea. Wonderful

Church Valley never disappoints and is a great location to just chill and recharge. Lovely coastal and inland walks, the beach but within an easy drive to the hustle and bustle of Plymouth or to quieter attractions. The facilities are always immaculate and we always receive a warm welcome.

Once we arrive at Churchwood Valley until the day we leave the car never moves. It's the perfect location, the walks, the sea just a short walk down the lane, the local riding stables and wildlife make for a wonderful time. Add to that the beautiful, clean, well equipped cabins and friendly, helpful staff make it a stress-free holiday. And if you want to venture out there are plenty of places to eat and to visit and with Plymouth only a few miles away you are never short of something to do. We've visited so many times and never been disappointed. Our year isn't complete without a stay at Churchwood Valley.

I have been holidaying at Churchwood for more than 50 years & love it's unspoilt & natural setting. I have been holidaying at Churchwood for more than 50 years & love it's unspoilt & natural setting. You won't find a clubhouse, an on-site pub, a children's playground etc so if that's what you look for in a holiday park, you will be disappointed. If you're looking for peace & quiet surrounded by a beautiful woodland setting in which to relax, then you'll find that in abundance. A five minute stroll to the sea & a lovely coast path make it an ideal base for walkers with stunning views in both directions. Our preferred cabin is always spotlessly clean & well equipped. The staff are friendly and helpful and there is a great selection of visitor information available for all. Have already planned our next stay!
