Churchwood Valley Holiday Cabins
Sleeps
up to 6 |
2 Bedroom |
Suitable for Families | WIFI Available | Pet Friendly | Instant Booking |
Churchwood Valley is a beautiful, natural wooded valley running down to the sea at Wembury Bay in South Devon, near Plymouth. Look closely and, hidden among the lush green foliage, you’ll see wooden cabins nestling on the hillside.
Each holiday cabin has its own plot on the hillside, surrounded by trees, flowering shrubs, hedges and rustic fences. All our cabins have views across the valley, with some looking out over the water meadow or towards the sea.
There’s a car parking space near each cabin and private roads and paths give access to the beach, an unspoiled stretch of rock pools and shingle with sand at low tide. Adjoining National Trust land, the beach is no more than a 10-minute stroll away from any of the cabins.
Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome in each cabin for a small charge, there are dog exercise areas on site and plenty of space for canine roaming locally.
This larger A6+ cabin can sleep six and has two twin bedrooms and a double bed settee in the lounge. The bathroom has a full size bath and shower over. The fully equipped kitchen includes a washing machine and dishwasher. In the open plan living area, a TV with DVD player is provided for added entertainment. Sliding patio doors open onto a paved patio.
A haven of peace within an environmental paradise, Churchwood Valley is a few minutes’ walk from a safe family beach and the South West Coast Path.
If ‘getting away from it all’ is the most important part of your holiday – Churchwood Valley is for you. Each holiday cabin is nestled within the woodland. By moving no further than your armchair, you’ll see delightful displays of birdlife, and a trip to your private patio may well afford a glimpse of badgers, foxes, squirrels, and other wildlife.
There are no discos, bars, or cafes – just rock pools, wildlife, and breathtaking scenery. Secluded it may be, isolated it is not. Churchwood’s licensed shop sells a wide range of food and drink, beach toys, gifts, and many other products, so you don’t even need to leave the site for those ‘essential’ items. We also have a fully equipped launderette. If you feel the need for a more extensive shop, or have a taste for the bright lights, the city of Plymouth is just a 20 minute drive away.

The location was very relaxing, cabin surrounded with trees and birds singing, very peaceful. Cabin was spotless and had additional cleaning equipment should you need it. The shower was superb with great water pressure. Internet connection was also really good. Our cabin had easy access. There where great walks directly from the cabin and no need to drive anywhere if you didn't need to. Only issue was the beach directly from the cabin was closed to dog from May to Sep so we had to drive 8 mins to bovisand Beach, but our dogs loved the stream next to the site more than the beach!!! Can't wait to come back

There cafe by the beach is a dream and everyone we encountered especially on the site were unbelievably helpful and friendly. The lodge itself is perfect for a family and has everything you could possibly need for a stay. Great recycling, great beach beautiful surrounding area. Only wish i’d have had my ebike with me and a bit more time to explore more.

We have used Churchwood Valley as our main "band base" while recording music at a local studio several times previously, but these stays have all been in mid-winter when it was often really cold and wet. Our most recent stay was in early summer, and it was beautiful. We worked hard on our music during the day, used local pubs for food etc, and then wound down with a couple of drinks on the decking. The staff have always been magnificent, and we wouldn't hesitate to use the facilities again in the future - either while working on more music or for a family holiday.

Overall it is a good well run site. the owners and the staff were very friendly and helpful. A very relaxing place to be. It is a family run site and makes no attempt to be anything else. A very relaxing place to be. It is a family run site and makes no attempt to be anything else. There is room for improving the cabins but that is always the case, nothing is perfect for everybody. Double glazing would be a useful upgrade to conserve heat. The site allows you to come and go without disturbing other residents. You feel somewhat hidden with the foliage and trees, ideal for those who wish to be secluded. Our Cabin had Blue Tits visiting a hole in the side wall and it got noisey as they settled in we heard the tapping just behind the microwave. Wembury Beach is good as it is and the NT plan to increase the car parking will destroy all that, not to mention the increase in traffic. The old Mill cafe is good for a break. Clearing the seaweed from the beach and using it as fertiliser would be a great asset
