Accepted Churchwood Valley is a beautiful, natural wooded valley running down to the sea at Wembury Bay in South Devon, near Plymouth. Look closely and, hidden among the lush green foliage, you’ll see wooden cabins nestling on the hillside.

Each holiday cabin has its own plot on the hillside, surrounded by trees, flowering shrubs, hedges and rustic fences. All our cabins have views across the valley, with some looking out over the water meadow or towards the sea.

There’s a car parking space near each cabin and private roads and paths give access to the beach, an unspoiled stretch of rock pools and shingle with sand at low tide. Adjoining National Trust land, the beach is no more than a 10-minute stroll away from any of the cabins.

Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome in each cabin for a small charge, there are dog exercise areas on site and plenty of space for canine roaming locally.

This compact cabin is great for two people and comes with a twin bedroom and shower cubicle.

The cabin also comes with a modern fitted kitchen with integrated appliances, an under-counter fridge and microwave, and a TV with DVD player. Located in the centre of the site, this A2 cabin has a peaceful and private patio and is frequently visited by wildlife on the park.

A haven of peace within an environmental paradise, Churchwood Valley is a few minutes’ walk from a safe family beach and the South West Coast Path.

If ‘getting away from it all’ is the most important part of your holiday – Churchwood Valley is for you. Each holiday cabin is nestled within the woodland. By moving no further than your armchair, you’ll see delightful displays of birdlife, and a trip to your private patio may well afford a glimpse of badgers, foxes, squirrels, and other wildlife.

There are no discos, bars, or cafes – just rock pools, wildlife, and breathtaking scenery. Secluded it may be, isolated it is not. Churchwood’s licensed shop sells a wide range of food and drink, beach toys, gifts, and many other products, so you don’t even need to leave the site for those ‘essential’ items. We also have a fully equipped launderette. If you feel the need for a more extensive shop, or have a taste for the bright lights, the city of Plymouth is just a 20 minute drive away. Great location in South Devon

Churchwoodvalley is perfectly located for a stay on the South Devon coast. It's quiet and private. My cabin was vasic but clean and had all I needed for my short stay. There's lots to do in the immediate vicinity, and everything is accessible on foot. Friendly staff. Wembury beach and Narine Centre are fantastic. Really enjoyed our stay.

Just beautiful beautiful beautiful what a find. Quite peaceful private chalets just the sounds of nature all around you covered in trees bushes flowers it is a woodland just perfect. It is situated in a valley so is quite hilly I’m not the fittest of people but just took my time and enjoyed the site and had a lovely walk around a beautiful area. We had a small chalet for 2 but it had everything we needed fridge oven hob separate bedroom bathroom living room a private terrace a very comfortable and clean chalet. As I said I’m not the fittest person so we did a lot of driving to visit some very beautiful places and bays so much to see but beware of very narrow roads. The site has a small shop with the essentials it does not have a cafe or bar but that just adds to the charm of Churchwood Valley. We can not say enough about Churchwood Valley and as for the staff they could not have been more helpful and very friendly. WE WILL BE BACK we had such a relaxing time

Nostalgic break in peaceful surrounds

Our first impression of our cabin was a little disappointing - there was a strong odour as we opened the door - a smell of musty old age but, we assumed the cabin had not been opened in a while and after a while, with the windows opened and then in the evening with the heaters on, the smell disappeared (or we just got used to it). The cabin itself was clean throughout and well equipped ; no complaints on that front. The decor and furnishings could do with an update and the two seater sofa was the most uncomfortable thing either of us have had the displeasure of sitting on for a long time - two small armchairs would have been better in the limited space. All that having been said, the greeting on arrival and the pre-booking correspondance was lovely, and the location is really beautiful - the peaceful woodlands and sounds of nature were just lovely - we went to sleep to the sounds of owls having a conversation in the night. It reminded us both of childhood holidays in the 70s. Nice !

Been many times over the years, so peaceful and relaxing, cabins are a little tired but well equipped with everything you need and spotlessly clean. Very hilly and some spots are tight to get in and out with car. At night you can hear the wildlife. Will definatly be stopping for the next few years.

We loved our stay at Churchwood, especially with all the wildflowers around the lodge. It was an ideal setting to walk down to the beach and along the coast path. Our lodge was clean and warm and had everything we needed. The staff were very helpful and gave us good advice about the local places to eat. Looking forward to our next visit.

If you want to get away from it all visit Churchwood. If you love to be in nature, to hear the owls at night, bird song at dawn, and nip down to the beach to watch the sea roll in, this is the place. Friendly people around you, but respectful of your privacy . M5 and A 38 and you are more or less there.Right , that's it .I'm booking again.
