Accepted Churchwood Valley is a beautiful, natural wooded valley running down to the sea at Wembury Bay in South Devon, near Plymouth. Look closely and, hidden among the lush green foliage, you’ll see wooden cabins nestling on the hillside.
Each holiday cabin has its own plot on the hillside, surrounded by trees, flowering shrubs, hedges and rustic fences. All our cabins have views across the valley, with some looking out over the water meadow or towards the sea.
There’s a car parking space near each cabin and private roads and paths give access to the beach, an unspoiled stretch of rock pools and shingle with sand at low tide. Adjoining National Trust land, the beach is no more than a 10-minute stroll away from any of the cabins.
Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome in each cabin for a small charge, there are dog exercise areas on site and plenty of space for canine roaming locally.
This compact cabin is great for two people and comes with a double bedroom and shower cubicle.
The cabin also comes with a modern fitted kitchen with integrated appliances, an under-counter fridge and microwave, and a TV with DVD player. Located in the centre of the site, this A2 cabin has a peaceful and private patio and is frequently visited by wildlife on the park.
A haven of peace within an environmental paradise, Churchwood Valley is a few minutes’ walk from a safe family beach and the South West Coast Path.
If ‘getting away from it all’ is the most important part of your holiday – Churchwood Valley is for you. Each holiday cabin is nestled within the woodland. By moving no further than your armchair, you’ll see delightful displays of birdlife, and a trip to your private patio may well afford a glimpse of badgers, foxes, squirrels, and other wildlife.
There are no discos, bars, or cafes – just rock pools, wildlife, and breathtaking scenery. Secluded it may be, isolated it is not. Churchwood’s licensed shop sells a wide range of food and drink, beach toys, gifts, and many other products, so you don’t even need to leave the site for those ‘essential’ items. We also have a fully equipped launderette. If you feel the need for a more extensive shop, or have a taste for the bright lights, the city of Plymouth is just a 20 minute drive away.

This was our seventh stay at Churchwood Valley. It is a fantastic place to stay. The cabins are well decorated and presented, with a private patio area, so ideal for outdoor dining and BBQs. It is Such a peaceful place to stay. The site has easy access to Great walking areas, only a 10 minute walk to Wembury beach and within walking distance of local pubs for lunches. Plymouth is only a short drive away.

We had a terrible journey down and were late arriving but having called ahead the staff were really helpful and had left our keys for us to access our cabin. The cabin was clean and bright with views across the wooded valley. The cabins are well spaced out and we were not overlooked there was a seating area with picnic bench that caught the morning sun which was a lovely spot to have breakfast. The bed was comfy. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. Although we didn't use the site shop it did appear to be well stocked. It was lovely to be able to walk down to the beach. We will be returning and have already recommended the site to friends.

The site is wonderfully peaceful and has been laid out very thoughtfully so the cabins are well screened from each other giving you privacy. Our cabin for 2 was the perfect size and spotlessly clean. The beach and coast path were a pleasant 5 minute walk away. We thoroughly enjoyed our short break and look forward to returning soon.

We had a lovely but brief stay, but found the accommodation a bit dated, although comfortable enough and had everything we needed

The cabin was clean, compact but had everything we needed. The view was amazing and we had visitors to the bird table every day (robin, blue tit, squirrels, wood pigeons etc) Short walk through woodland to the beach and coastal paths. The staff were helpful and friendly. Plenty of coves to visit a short drive away and Plymouth not far away. We came away feeling totally relaxed. A lovely holiday.

Wow everything on website was true. Quiet and peaceful. Clean beautiful log cabins. High in the treetops very private and so much birdsong and butterflies....stunning place. Log cabins are cosy but everything we needed was provided. Totally relaxed on our 2 night stay. Owners are lovely and nature lovers too. Would highly recommend if you want to get away from everything

We had a very peaceful and relaxing break at Churchwood Valley. Cabin was comfortable and well equipped. Only issue was with the signage for cabins which are small when driving through and also a clearer one way system needed.A short hilly walk to quiet beach and coastal paths, would recommend the walk to the Rock Inn at Yalverton which does lovely food.
