The location was good but accessibility to it was very poor, alright as a one off but going out every day got tedious. The staff were very friendly always polite and helpful. The lodge was as described clean and well equipped. one thing that needs changing is the TV, have not seen one so small for a long time. Trying to watch Wimbledon was almost impossible. Chairs in lounge could be a bit more comfortable but acceptable. The bathroom was very good. The small patio area was very overgrown with weeds, needed tidying and a few plants putting in. Parking was poor always worried car would get scratched. Nice to be able to walk down to the beach from lodge. It was not particularly good value for money as stayed in a lodge on a quiet site in Devon a month earlier for a similar price much more modern. There were nice places to visit in the area National Trusts and Plymouth was easy to get to, especially if you used the Mountbatten ferry. Nice pub/restaurants in area, especially Eddystone Inn.

We would like to address some of the points which you raised:Firstly, we are gradually upgrading the TVs at the cabins and if you had a particular issue, we would have tried to source a larger TV for you. Similarly, if you were unhappy with your nearby parking spot, we could have suggested an alternative which was perhaps more to your liking.We are sorry that the outside space was not to your taste-we strive for a good balance between maintaining a natural feel to the surroundings whilst ensuring that the landscape is not completely overgrown, and lastly, we obviously cannot comment on your recent stay elsewhere, other than to say that we feel we offer good value given our unique setting and close proximity to the beach.All in all, we hope that you will consider a return visit, whereupon we will try to offer something a little more to your liking.

If you had any issues with the parking space which was near your cabin, we could have suggested somewhere else nearby for your vehicle. Perhaps, given your comments, Churchwood was simply not for you, but if you consider visiting us again, please have a chat to us prior to booking and we will do our best to offer a cabin which you enjoy.

All you need for a quiet holiday plenty of wild life . Owners and all the staff are welcoming and friendly.

We have been visiting for around 20 years, having a 2 year gap before this visit.The surroundings are peaceful and natural and very quiet apart from the birds chirping and the sound of the sea if the wind is in the right direction!!Some of the cabins are looking a little tired now and could do with upgrading but they have basic facilities and are clean and the tranquility makes up for the rest.

This place is pure heaven for the ones looking for peace and quiet. The cabins are furnished for essentials needed for a holiday. The cabins are private and not really over looked. I like the idea we had a fence around the private garden making it secure for our dogs. Nobody bothers you but the staff are there if needed. I highly recommend if wanting to get away from the hassle from everyday lifel The beach is close by although my mobility dosnt allow me to walk onto the beach. It's such a beautiful place and I highly recommend it. Will definitely be back again

We have stayed at Churchwood twice before,when we were first married 59 years ago,and 15 ish years ago.so thought we knew what to expect,little did we factor in our aging process! Seems to be a lot steeper roads than before,our main gripe was not being able to take our dog onto the small beach,which we could do last time.apart from that a lovely place to stay ,very clean cabin tele could do with an upgrade,we are so used to big televisions these days.would recommend if you are fit!

Enjoyed our short break on the lower road to the cabin advised. Nice and quiet and with good nature close around us. Didnt get much chance to see the shop or talk with staff but the one minor change was done with simple arrangement and smiles.Thanks again for this break in beautifull surroundingsBest WishesDavid and Angela Espin.N.B. Friendly & helpful staff, simple, clean & comfortable cabins, peaceful & beautiful surrounding area, great location for National Trust, South Coast path, wildlife, beach, country pubs, garden centres all on your doorstep.

Another great stay with the estate and wider landscape looking amazing with wildflowers and new foliage everywhere. The cabin was immaculate and well stocked with equipment. Places we love to visit include The Bridge at Mountbatten, the Box museum in Plymouth and Rockets & Rascals/Black Cat Surfclub for coffee & light meals.
