Welcome to Gisburne Park Estate, one of Lancashire’s finest private estates, on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales. A 1000 acres of picturesque Ribble Valley countryside, owned and managed by Amber and Guy Hindley and family. Nestled within the Estate is Ribblesdale Park, the North of England’s leading hot tub holiday destination. A collection of contemporary lodges, historic houses, cosy cottages or glorious glamping.
Huntsman’s Cottage is now fully refurbished and open as a holiday cottage. Situated on the edge of the Estate in an Area of Outstanding National Beauty it was built in 1678.
The cottage will sleep up to 8 people in 4 generously sized bedrooms. These bedrooms feature 1 super kind, 2 kings, and a twin bedroom. There is a house bathroom upstairs and each bedroom has a TV and DVD player. Downstairs is a large sitting room with a log burner and TV. There is also a spacious dining room and a kitchen with everything you need. There is also a shower room and loo and a utility room with a washer dryer. Outside there is a 1/2 acre garden, fenced off which is all yours to enjoy. Here is where you will find a luxury 6-person hot tub.
This cottage oozes all the charm and character you would expect from a listed country cottage; oak beams, asymmetrical walls, log burners and creaky floor boards. Its situated on the edge of an old farm and livery yard so if you don’t like animals then this isn’t the place for you…there are chickens, ducks, horses, ponies and all sorts down there.

The cottage is warm, comfortable, great beds, has fab outside space and there is fizz on arrival. Sadly the hot tub cover is all ripped and the power of the jets is hopeless. The BBQ was in a disgusting state, having not been cleaned since it was last used & the doors had fallen off the front. Fortunately Lee the fab maintenance man came round and cleaned it, re attached the doors & showed us how to light it. The pool didn’t open during our stay, even though it was the 29th April-3rd of May & we got 2 sunny & warm days. A social media post weeks earlier confirmed in would open at the end of March; we only booked because of the pool. This is false advertising. Contact with the site is hopeless as all messages go via 1 person, Lauren, which is crazy for the size of the site. If she’s on leave you have to await her return. If you dare to make a negative comment on their socials, it disappears. The shower head was loose & had to be tied up to use. No room left; see review on Trip Advis

The cottage was a lot further away from the park than we expected literally on its own. It was nice and spacious, clean but tired in places. Not like the picture below. The front door frame kept trapping our hands the gap from the handle was too close also you could see daylight so really cold at night in the lounge. The windows were very drafty some didn’t close and the downstairs shower wouldn’t regulate do was too hot to use with 6 people to shower there was a lot of waiting. The kitchen was good a lovely clean cooker. Outside the hot tub didn’t work properly only one jet worked the cover was torn all a bit tatty. Overall a good time but could be better.

We stayed at Ribblesdale Park in the Hunstman Cottage for a week (Mon-Fri). One of the primary reasons for our stay was to have our dogs included in our holiday. The entire park is absolutely incredible, a lot of places to walk and wildlife to see. The cottage was unbelievable and incredibly homely. The garden was fantastic for the dogs and being enclosed, ensured they could have just as good a time away as we did. There were plenty of places nearby to walk, we went to Malham and also Ingelton Falls, both great walks for human and dog alike. The food in the restaurant on site was absolutely delicious, we had an evening meal and breakfast. The staff couldn’t do enough for you and the restaurant, also being dog friendly meant our 4 legged family members could come along. We highly recommend this for anyone looking to stay, and have already recommended to friends for a return trip!

A lovely spacious cottage located a 30 minute walk from the main park, perfect for those wanting a quieter break. The garden and grounds surrounding the cottage are secure and great for dogs to roam freely. Feedback - the cottage could do with more equipment in the kitchen or more information on a suggestion of what to bring, oil, salt pepper etc. A welcome pack would make a big impact too. The garden needs a little more work regarding fences and the gate as our dogs could escape if they wanted to.

We loved the cottage - it was beautiful and characterful just as we had hoped. However, I felt like a few things were missing. There were no TVs in the bedrooms as it says (multiple times) on their website. I felt it was missing the basics like oven gloves, dustpan and brush, salt and pepper plus it is always nice to get things like foil / cling film, more than 5 dishwasher tablets and 1 toilet roll - I think when something is so lovely, the expectations are higher. We also had to phone to ask for the WiFi password 3 times which seems a bit wrong. I would also have liked to have had someone check in with us that all was ok - except for the hot tub man, I had no contact from the company / estate. This sounds fussy but it’s the small things that leave a happy lasting memory.

The cottage was in beautiful surroundings with lovely places for walks. The restaurant was clean and friendly and the food was good. Short drive away to clitheroe for a bit of shopping. Relaxed in the hot tub in the evening with a glass of wine. Ernest our boxer dog had the whole paddock run about safely. Will definitely recommend this place to everyone. A truly enjoyable holiday.

We have been several times and stay in the Huntsman which I love. Just a few things this year: there were no bins for outside ie wheelie bins, dogs allowed but no dog bins, and also the light in the main bedroom was too far away to see yourself to do hair and makeup in, the room was very dark. Other than that it was awesome and I’ll be rebooking!
