Bluebell pod

Vaughan, Mike - 25/04/2024

Well equipped and quiet location, we enjoyed our stay.As a family business cashflow is always difficult but the whole site suffers from low maintenance.Access tracks and parking places are potholed and muddy in bad weather. Walk to the pod is dark and muddy. The pod veranda was mossy and strewn with tree debris. A sweep and pressure wash might have made a big difference?Inside was cosy but repairs were evident and basic. The kitchen unit in particular was scruffy inside with peeling edging strips and worryingly loose drawers. In the woods the dawn chorus is very loud so bring your earplugs!Friendly, helpful owners and great location for walking trips or local attractions but in the pods expect cosy and functional not five star accommodation.

The site is lovely and the cabin was nice. We pre paid for fire kit which wasn’t there when we arrived, the staff swapped it for WiFi at our request kindly. Unfortunately the WiFi is poor and a hassle to connect to. Still a really nice stay

We had a fantastic little break . The staff were all very lovely . We asked for our daughter and granddaughter to come on and visit and they didn’t have any problems with that . The children enjoyed the park that’s on site . We went out to a local pub (the ship) and the food was amazing there . We are really looking forward to coming back .

Such an escape!

I stayed with my 11 year old daughter in a Bluebell cabin. Although it was February the heating kept it warm. The cabin was well equipped with everything we needed for our stay, including everything we needed for cooking. The Bluebell cabins are set in natural surroundings - not landscaped - which we loved! The firepit was a definite bonus and the shop sells everything you need for essentials and for using the fire. Although we live relatively close by (N-u-L) it really felt like a break, a chance to get back to basics, we really loved being out in the woods that are part of the park itself (aswell as a play area) and countryside. We had such a great stay that we extended for a night as we didn't want to leave!

We had a great little over night stay at quarry walk. The pod was very warm and cosy, all facilities worked well and we were very happy with what we found. The setting was also good with other pods close but not too close. The lady at reception was also really friendly. We enjoyed the local attractions such as dimmingsdale and Trentham which were close by and easy to reach. We would come back but think about upgrading for a hot tub!
