"Stay at Quarry walk"

A Lyons - Stayed with friends, Sep 2020

Excellent site and location- beautiful places to walk. Recommend the ramblers retreat at Dimmingsdale and the Queens at Freehay who are both Covid secure and serve amazing food

I only have an issue with the cleanliness of the Bluebell pod we stayed in. The floor was dirty and had bits all over it, the bed sheets had black mould all over them and there was black hair over the bed and all in the shower. Im not one to moan but needed to say that issue. Thanks for our stay and we will return for sure but in future if there is an issue we will have to speak up.

"Nice site, nice pod, poor toilets for campers"

We booked a pod and 2 camp places. Review from person #1: Lovely site and good size (not to large) and lots of places to explore and children to play • Good facilities; shop and children playground • Quick to fix the tap when reported • Shared toilets were a bit dirty and no soap in the evening, but cleaned by mid morning following day (maybe more regular checks needed) Review from second person: Lovely woodland site, great for exploring and felt safe for kids. Enjoyed using the fire pit too. The toilets and showers unfortunately were not that clean which made us reluctant to want to use them. They were also quite far from where were camping (for young children), would have been useful to have a portable toilet or compost toilet closer). From person #3: Toilets not clean. There was a continuous bad sewage smell in the area between the reception and bluebell pods... I didn't enjoy the fact that there were only unisex toilets. From the Pod people: we didn't like the induction hob....would have preferred electric. The frying pan was so big and the hob too close to the wall so that meant you couldn't use a pan at the same time as the frying pan . We told the campers to use our toilet and shower in the pod as the common toilet and shower area was often not clean. If they had not had ours to use they would have had a worse experience.

We have just come back from a weekend away in the bluebell glamping pods and we were very impressed. The pod was very good value for money, very well equipped, it even had heating and Bluetooth speakers! Now that’s what I call glamping! Down near the lodges there is a fab childrens playground too. The only thing we wish we had had was our own bbq with the pod rather than a communal fire pit as that thing is huge and would take quite a lot of wood to get going and is a bit of a trek when when you want to sit outside your own pod.

We walked at Chee Dale on the first day and visited the Peak Wildlife Park on the second. We had a lovely meal at The Star at Cotton, which was a short drive away. The check in was straight forward, the staff were helpful and friendly. There is a small onsite shop which is well stocked. The glamping pod was clean and very well equipped. There is a lovely children's playground on site. We had a great time and will certainly consider coming back.

"Wish we could stay longer.."

Mr L Lam - Stayed with family, Aug 2020

Only available for 2 nights..Extra few days would have been prefect. Hut is a good size for young family of 4, clean, cosy, warm and has all the amenities , the kids love it. Many good little walks nearby. One suggestion, wish each huts has their own bbq / firepit... Only available for 2 nights..Extra few days would have been prefect. "Very happy"

Mr C Ramsay - Stayed with family, Aug 2020

Only slight criticism is they towels are not included. Would have liked a small shelf over bed, just big enough for phone/water.

"Glamping"

Ms S Wilkinson - Stayed with family, Aug 2020

Stayed in one of the glamping pods for two nights while en route to Scotland. Lovely site in great location for cycling and walking and would be very convenient for a visit to Alton Towers. Pods very comfortable and well equipped. Great playground for younger children.
