Nestled on the side of a hill, overlooking picturesque wildflower meadows and the rolling Blackdown Hills, Orion at Royal Oak Farm offers a unique and enchanting escape. This off-grid stargazing cabin, built in 2020, is just a short drive away from the world-renowned Jurassic Coast and the Southwest Coastal Footpath.

Orion's charm lies in its thoughtful design, with a vast stargazing window positioned above the king-sized bed, allowing guests to marvel at the beauty of the night sky. A vintage roll top bath on the private deck provides an indulgent opportunity to soak beneath the stars. The cabin is equipped with a fully functional kitchenette featuring hot running water, a fridge, and a gas hob, ensuring a comfortable stay in this off-grid paradise.

The interior of the cabin boasts a sumptuous king-sized bed beneath a skylight window fitted with blackout blinds, offering an intimate setting to observe shooting stars or the first light of dawn. The large en-suite shower room includes a walk-in shower and vanity unit, while a compost loo is conveniently accessed from the same space.

During cooler months, guests can cosy up to the wood-burning stove, with a complimentary basket of logs, kindling, and firelighters provided. Additional supplies are available for purchase if needed. The living-eating space features two armchairs and a table for two, strategically placed near French windows that open onto a spacious private deck. Here, guests can enjoy breathtaking views and alfresco dining at their very own gravelled fire pit area.

The private deck is a highlight of Orion, hosting a vintage roll top bath with ample hot running water for a luxurious soak under the starlit sky. The cabin also provides stargazing essentials such as a monocular, binoculars with star books and maps, and cosy blankets for a warm and magical experience after dark.

Powered entirely by solar energy and utilizing LPG gas for cooking and hot water, Orion provides an authentic off-grid experience. With 4G connectivity available on most mobile networks but no Wi-Fi in the cabins, guests are encouraged to fully disconnect and embrace the tranquillity of the surroundings. While a USB charging point is provided for phone recharging, the cabin operates on a 12V system, meaning there are no 13-amp plug sockets.

It's worth noting that due to the presence of livestock on the farm, dogs are not permitted, ensuring a serene and undisturbed atmosphere for all guests.
