Accepted With views across open farmland The Deckhouse is a timber cabin open all year round. It is quirky and rustic, we describe it as half self-catering cottage/ half glamping. It's on the other side of the farm from the safari tents so ideal if you are looking for a more private option. There's a king bed in the main bedroom and a mini bunk room at the other end of the cabin, the bunk room is small with narrow beds suitable for children under 12 years of age. The bunk room isn't available with adult stays
The cabin kitchen is cheerfully decorated and well equipped with mini-oven/hob, microwave, retro style under-counter fridge-freezer, and table with Ercol chairs. The open plan sitting room has a comfy sofa, wall mounted television, books & games, quirky original pictures and knick-knacks. The modern shower room runs off the open plan space and has towels, loo paper and soap etc provided. The cabin is heated by a wood fired stove which we will have pre-lit for you if you're staying in the winter. It's well insulated and perfectly warm all year round.
The cabin has a private fenced garden with apple trees, fairy lights, a wood fired hot tub, firepit/barbecue area and hammock. The hot tub for The Deckhouse is an optional extra, you can arrange this directly with the owners.
There is space for a moses basket or travel cot in the main bedroom (a travel cot won't fit in the bunk room as it's too narrow). Please note children over the age of 1 count towards the occupancy and the cabin sleeps a maximum of two adults and two children under the age of 12.
The Deckhouse Cabin doesn't have WiFi, but we do have a good 4G signal around the farm especially if you are on EE as the mobile mast on nearby Exmoor. (You might need to stand outside on the deck to pick up a signal!)
Not dog friendly. No smoking inside please. There is parking for a car close to the cabin. A generous supply of firewood is supplied for the wood burner in the cabin.
- Breakfast hampers, cakes and evening meals can be arranged direct with Middle Stone Farm.
- Middle Stone Farm has a shop, children's play areas and a menagerie of animals.
- EV car chargers due 2023, check with owner if you need
- There are non feather duvets and pillows on each of the beds, there will be cotton base sheets on mattresses, but please bring your own duvet cover and pillow cases, or hire directly from owner With views across open farmland The Deckhouse is a timber cabin open all year round.
