Mains Farm Caravan Site is a family run quiet touring park, set in the countryside well away from main roads, yet within easy reach of the Lake District, Hadrian’s Wall and the Scottish Borders.
Mains Farm offers a choice of 12 camping pods where you can enjoy spectacular views of the Eden Valley. Each pod includes electric, lighting, electric heater for cool winter nights, a porch for sitting out and a picnic bench for dining.
Outstanding peaceful, rural location with spectacular views of the Eden Valley in Cumbria. Enjoy walks direct from the glamping site in the Lake District including a lovely, short riverside walk to the village of Kirkoswald, which has a shop, post office and a choice of two Inns. Ullswater is less than 15 miles away where you will find some fantastic walking routes. One of our favourite routes takes in Lacy's Caves and Long Meg Stone Cirle. The C2C cycle route is within 1 mile of the site and an 18 hole golf course is only a 10 minute drive away. There is an enclosed children's play area with swings and slides for those wanting a family glamping break in the Lake District or why not visit the Lazonby heated outdoor swimming pool from your glampsite at Mains Farm.

Absolutely faultless. One of the best sites we've stayed at

We stayed at Mains Farm over the May bank holiday with a group of friends in a selection of pods and tents. The welcome from Julie and Robert was warm and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble and they had some wonderful stories to tell about the history of the farm.We attended the Beats & Bites night on the Saturday which was great and brought the community as well as campers together. The vision of the hot air balloons taking off from the next field just added to the magic! We had a couple of walks into the local villages along the river and popped into the pubs to get into the warm! The facilities were great, plenty of loos, showers and kitchen facilities. The kettles were a godsend in the morning rather than having waiting for water to boil on a hob for your first cuppa of the day. The staff were constantly cleaning so there was always someone to speak to if you needed help. I loved Mains Farm and have already recommended it to friends and hope to come back next year

Great campsite. Facilities brilliant. Excellent location in tranquil and picturesque surroundings. Owners couldn’t have been more helpful. Very friendly and genuinely welcoming. We discovered their own private walk for campers only. A lovely circuit up through woods, across meadows and back down a stream with deep pools, ancient stone benches and grassy glens abundant with wild flowers and even a walnut tree. The Featherstone Arms in the village (10 minute walk) do Thursday pie nights. You’ll struggle to find a better pie….. but book well in advance due to popularity. We stayed in a pod this time which boasted tremendous views and was close enough to the facilities yet set in a position offering privacy and plenty of space. For £10 you can hire a fire pit and enough logs, kindling and fire lighters to easily last you two nights. This was our second visit but there will definitely be more in the future. Oh….. and they do live music and pizza nights on Saturdays during the

Fabulous campsite. Really lovely staff. Super clean facilities. Lovely location. We stayed in a pod, which whilst small was much easier then dealing with a tent. And it had a heater, sockets and a fabulous view. And for a few quid more than taking a tent definitely worth it. Facilities are amazing. Kettles, microwave, toaster fridge and freezer. Shop selling everything from wine to ice lollies. Loads of showers and toiletsAn indoor searing area for evening drinking if it rains. Great walksNearby lido and loads of other stuff to do.Local pub by the railway The Midland. Fabulous friendly helpful staff. Great food. Awesome prices. Would definitely come back

Excellent stay at Mains Farm. Stayed in one of their pods which is a first for us. Found the pods to be warm and cosy. Toilets and showers were clean and well maintained. Showers were powerful with plenty of hot water. We booked as a family with additional friends joining us over a period of 4 days. It was great that we were all given pods close to each other. We will definitely be back.
