Accepted Mains Farm Caravan Site is a family run quiet touring park, set in the countryside well away from main roads, yet within easy reach of the Lake District, Hadrian’s Wall and the Scottish Borders.
Mains Farm offers a choice of 12 camping pods where you can enjoy spectacular views of the Eden Valley. Each pod includes electric, lighting, electric heater for cool winter nights, a porch for sitting out and a picnic bench for dining.
Outstanding peaceful, rural location with spectacular views of the Eden Valley in Cumbria. Enjoy walks direct from the glamping site in the Lake District including a lovely, short riverside walk to the village of Kirkoswald, which has a shop, post office and a choice of two Inns. Ullswater is less than 15 miles away where you will find some fantastic walking routes. One of our favourite routes takes in Lacy's Caves and Long Meg Stone Cirle. The C2C cycle route is within 1 mile of the site and an 18 hole golf course is only a 10 minute drive away. There is an enclosed children's play area with swings and slides for those wanting a family glamping break in the Lake District or why not visit the Lazonby heated outdoor swimming pool from your glampsite at Mains Farm. Lovely site. Pod perfect, plenty of sockets, well positioned and spaced out. Great toilet facilities, very homely. A site with character and charm, and very peaceful. Oh and great sunsets!

This was our second visit to mains farm. The staff were just as helpful and friendly as they were first time around. Clean toilets and washing facilities, nice honesty shop and nice layout. We're also big fans of the immediate area, Lazonby and Kirkoswald are two lovely villages with nice pubs. Also ideal location for those wanting to explore the Lake District and North Pennines.Looking forward to visiting again in August.

I would recommend Mains Farm campsite. It is set in beautiful countryside on the edge of the Lake District. We spent some time in the Lakes and some time in the Eden valley. The staff are very friendly and the amenities on the campsite are excellent. We especially liked the camp kitchens which were useful. The showers were hot and powerful and didn’t keep going off like they do at some campsites. There is a nice little shop with their own eggs etc.

Welcoming owners. The pod was clean and cosy with a heater included. Toilets and showers clean and well stocked. Car park on site. Really nice views and plenty of outdoor space. Stayed for 2 nights. Went to local pub for dinner which was really nice and local shop is great. Will definitely be back soon.

We loved this camp site, beautiful surrounding and very peaceful. The facilities were fantastic and clean. The staff were most helpful, kind and answered any questions we had. There is a lovely little honesty shop with snacks. We would definitely be returning.

The owners are very nice and friendly, makes you feel very welcome. The camp location is very good: half an hour drive to Ullswater or 40 min to Derwentwater, Keswick. I would recommend this farm to families with children but not for those who wants to spend time in calm environment. On our visit facilities were not so clean and tidy but not of the owners fault. Actually it depends a lot on people staying at that time. If parents can't control their children playing in showers with dirty shoes, others won't have clean facilities as well.
We are pleased you enjoyed your stay at Mains Farm. Thank you for your positive comments. The Bank Holiday weekend when you stayed was an extreemly busy time.As you point out - un supervised children - thought it was great fun to play hide and seek in the shower block. We understand that when it is very wet it is harder to entertain children. However, it is even harder for our ' Nija Cleaning Team ' to continuously mop up dirty foot fall. Please come back to visit us at a quieter time of the year - you will have a very different - calm experience.
