An Oasis of Tranquillity in Cornwall, Ruthern Valley Camping Pods (NO electric) sleep up to 2 adults and 2 children, a fantastic wooden tent to keep you warm and dry – you do need to bring all your camping gear except the tent; they are not equipped but the camping pods offer a convenient alternative to the tent and retain all the ambiance of the ‘camping holiday’. They are set in designated areas within the site and they are ready and waiting for you with more privacy than a tent and much more comfort for family glamping on the Cornish coast!

Outside they have wooden decks to sit out on, cook and enjoy the beautiful Cornwall countryside.

If you book to go glamping in Cornwall you will find woodland walks right on your doorstep and Ruthern Valley Camping Pods are in an ideal location, central to all Cornwall has to offer.

Hire a bike right from the shop and cycle to the Camel Valley Vineyard, Grogley Woods or Bodmin Gaol! If cycling isn't your thing you can chill on some of the best beaches along the Cornish coast or take advantage of this location for glamping to visit the Eden Project, the infamous millennium project in Cornwall.

Sea spray on the north coast, balmy breezes in the south, scrumptious Cornish food, wild moor ponies and mysterious quoits. Cornwall has so much in store for you.

"Family bank holiday break"

J Cawsey - Stayed with family, Aug 2021

Great place to stay. We really enjoyed our bank holiday weekend trip. The kids loved the play area. Accommodation was clean and well maintained. Shower and toilet facilities clean. The food ban on our first night served lovely food, much needed after a long drive.... Great place to stay. We really enjoyed our bank holiday weekend trip. The kids loved the play area. "Lovely and peaceful"

Mr. S Pape - Stayed with partner, Aug 2021

I really enjoyed my stay and would go again. In fact I think this may be my 4th or 5th visit. It is so peaceful and clean and the access to the Camel trail is great.

Looking online we discovered Ruthern Valley, and booked one of their pods. On arrival at the site, we had a warm welcome, given a map of the site, and directions to facilities and our pod. The pitches are well spaced, and well maintained. The shop had everything we needed for our first nights BBQ. The toilets and shower rooms are spotlessly clean. We did have a look at the other accommodation, which was very spacious, but we were more than happy with our little pod for 3 nights. I would definitely looking at booking one of the larger accommodation for a longer stay. There is bicycle hire available on site. There are lots of places to visit. While we were there we visited Bude, Port Isaac, Wadebridge, Newquay, and few little villages.

"Great weather worry-free Camping Alternative"

I chose the site due to its location, and the opportunity to camp without concern for the weather. As a sole parent, the idea of not having to erect and dismantle a tent on my own and in uncertain weather conditions was very appealing, and helped the stay to be more relaxing for myself. We ended up staying on site for the 22 hours of our stay - the children loved the woods, pigs, chickens, and play equipment. I loved that they could have their freedom within a small safe area (and we used walkie-talkies to keep in touch).

"Lovely well-run campsite set in beautiful countryside"

C Kruger - Stayed with family, Aug 2020

Really enjoyed our stay - only comment was that the camping pod we stayed was a little smaller than expected (2 adults and 2 teenagers) - would have been better suited to 2 adults with 2 younger children? Great that we could hire bikes from the camp-site to experience... Many thanks for your review. Yes the pod is snug for four adults. We'll try to make this clearer on our new upcoming website. We hope we'll see you again. Best regards, Andrew & Nicky

"Lovely short stay, good location"

Miss A Roulson - Stayed with family, Aug 2020

Three of us stayed in a simple Glamping POD and it was such a nice place to come back to after a day out! They provided a stump for a BBQ, and there was plenty of room for us all and our bags. They provided a stump for a BBQ, and there was plenty of room for us all and our bags. The shop was well stocked, and the site itself is very peaceful. The only thing I would say is that it is a very small toilet block (two toilets) and one toilet was closed off due to social distancing (completely understandable). More showers than toilets, but they were very clean. The hand soap dispenser had run out and wasn't filled for a couple hours, as was the anti-bac spray, which we had to bring up on checking out. Apart from that, it was a lovely stay, thank you!
