"Great for families visiting Alton towers"

The cabin had everything you need with 5 of us staying we had ample room. The few things I thought let it down ever so slightly was that we arrived at 20:30 in the dark and pouring with rain. With 2 kids and lots of bags to take in the area wasn’t lite at all so trying to them use the tour h on a smart watch and carry bags in the rain was too good. Just some slight light wood chip foot paths would be great to solve this problem. Another was our induction job wasn’t working so couldn’t cook how we wanted. Another small one was after the kids had gone to bed we sat outside but the outside light was motion activated and after a few minutes we had to wave hands etc to turn it on, a fixed light on a switch would be great. Saying all this we would 100% go back as this is what we have been looking for in the area for a while

"We loved our stay in the Bluebell Plus Pod"

Stayed recently in the Bluebell Plus Pod (twice the size of the smaller Bluebell pods and I thought a nicer location than the pods with jacuzzis). Everything felt fresh and clean, with a wonderful smell of pine. There are 3 double beds (including a double bunk bed), a decent bathroom with great shower and a kitchenette with 2-ring induction hob, kettle, toaster and a tiny fridge (don't take too much fresh food!). There's a fold-up table inside and a covered picnic table outside, plus a communal fire pit (which we didn't get to use as it was raining!). I took my own cafetiere and penknife with bottle/tin opener, and you need to take your own towels. You can borrow books and DVDs from reception, where there's a good little shop. The whole area is lovely, set in a woodland with a nice 1km trail - we saw loads of beautiful red fly agaric toadstalls. I really loved the whole place and the staff were so friendly and helpful. 15 mins to Alton Towers and lovely walks nearby at Dimmers Dale.

"We arrived during the hours of darkness to a warm welcoming cabin and although it slept 6 we were expecting a smaller size, looking at the website, and we’re really pleasantly surprised."

We didn’t arrive till 8.30pm so, unless we had an emergency, we had to find our way to the cabin ourselves. The details of the coded box etc were sent in an e-mail prior, so that was really useful and easy to follow. We have a 4x4 so we couldn’t see how badly we parked until the morning. It was also difficult to see the numbers of the cabins when driving down the track, so we weren’t sure to start of with, which one was ours. We started up the fire pit and enjoyed our marshmallows then tucked into a warm cabin for the night. It was the best night sleep I’ve had in a long while. The cabins shower and toilet were of a good quality. The whole place was clean and cosy. We didn’t use the shop but it looked lovely. We will definitely come back. Thank you.

Site is impressive, staff are amazing however if you wish to be in a pod where the cleaners haven't done their Job properly, or you are sleeping with mould of the wooden beams as the roof has leak then please go ahead. The window didn't shut properly and hasn't for some time as the wood was worn and there pane on the main door was broken. I did raise a complaint on my return, they said a cleaner would n Be in to do a deep clean. They were already aware of the broken window pane, reckoned the window wasn't an issue and completely dismissed the mould. Offered me 20% discount to return. If like me you look further than a quick glance round the place you are staying especially if you have children then im sure I'm not the I ly one who has found faults.

Upon arrival I realised I had made a mistake with the accommodation type I thought I had booked. Luckily the staff on reception were very helpful and arranged an alternative which was the Bluebell plus pod. We were very impressed with the 3 double beds and well equipped kitchen and facilities. The super hydro message shower was an absolute delight. We were warm and had plenty of room for our one night stay. Wifi was a bit hit and miss but ok for what we needed. We booked a fire pit pack and enjoyed toasting marshmallows. Site was quiet and clean with a handy little shop for any essentials. Lots of shops and places to eat nearby. We were visiting Alton Towers and usually stay at their hotel but found this hidden gem and will definitely be returning and staying for longer.

Enjoyable 2 night stay in September 2022. Stayed so we could be close to Alton Towers. Definitely a need for more BBQ/firepit areas as our pod no 10 was not ideally located to use it and rules were very strict on using personal bbq's. We were warned the WIFI signal would be bad, but it was non existent. No signal at all until we got 100 yards down the road, so hard to program GPS to find the way out. Toaster plug fuse not working on first night we stayed so we requested a replacement the next day which we received. We ordered firewood for the stay but this was not provided so we requested and received a refund. Shower was amazing, kitchenette was good and cabins were cosy. The double bed mattress was very uncomfortable and definitely needs replacing. Overall a nice stay with room for improvement.
