Our Roundhouses is approximately 5 metres in diameter, with an exposed timber framed roof structure, wooden flooring & an extensive outdoor space to enjoy the beauty of your surroundings.

Inside your Roundhouse, you will find a double bed, complete with luxury bed linen and duvet and a double pull out sofa bed with wooden coffee table. Bedside cabinets are included in your stay, along with kitchen sideboards & wooden flooring throughout.

Two bedside lights & fitted wall lights give this accommodation a warm glow in the evenings and a small internal table & chairs provide guests an area to enjoy mealtimes.

Hi Beth,Thank you for your review of your stay.We apologise that your stay did not live up to expectations, this is something we certainly do not want to hear.We also apologise for the lack of hand towels in our amenity block, this was an oversight and our toilet and showers are checked regularly; this can be the case on busy periods of business with wastage but rest assured, we will action this with more regular restocking. With regards the provision of milk in the fridge, we have never confirmed this would be the case. We certainly provide milk for our guests should they ask & when we have provided a small jug or such like, it was wasted. Our shop, camping & café staff are more than willing to assist with any requests of this type.Your Roundhouse is situated in our secluded and private camping field. The sub strata of this area in terms of soil is very shallow, before shale and clay; atypical of the North York Moors location. Thus, we try and restrict vehicular use so as to protect the ground in wet and damp conditions; this has enabled us to keep the damage over the grass field areas to a minimum & of course, we allow vehicle access to drop off luggage etc on arrival. We simply do not have the necessary trade to open on a Sunday evening I am afraid; we are open 7 days a week and cater for our visitors and guests on site accordingly, with the evening restaurant opening being purely seasonal over three nights & our earlier closing on a Sunday evening. We do hope that you can see fit to change your review a little so as to try and support small, family owned hospitality & leisure businesses like ours during such difficult operating times. We also hope you can return to Lordstones and we look forward to welcoming you again.

Lovely stay

Three of us stayed in one of the ‘yurts’ which is actually a more substantial solid wall hexagonal building with a little veranda. It was comfy and warm (little radiator if you needed it) and a good sized bbq. All good 👍

Wonderful weekend

The roundhouse was a welcome surprise, very comfortable to come back to after walking on the hills. Great surroundings and bar/restaurant just round the corner. Shower block and toilets close by and clean. Staff friendly and welcoming especially the manager who we had a lovely chat with before we left. Grounds very quiet at night but very dark going from hut to toilets at night, could do with sensor light close to roundhouse. Only suggestions would be in roundhouse porthole on door lacks privacy as anyone could look into cabin and let's light in, maybe some way of blocking out light from ceiling as feels like the lights are on about 5am and bit of a distraction sleeping but if had know could have taken eye mask. Could do with possibly some relaxation facilities on site, after a long walk would be nice for use of massage equipment that could be loaned out or offered on site.

Pleasant stay, but a toilet and sink in the round houses please

Forster, Terry - 07/08/2022

We stayed in one of the glamping pods during our last stay and really enjoyed it. Decided we'd visit again and bring our granddaughter. When we saw the round houses we thought they'd be an upgrade to the pod - a pod but bigger - so we were disappointed to find there was neither a toilet nor sink. The information provided on the website could do with some improvement.Saying that, we had a pleasant 2 nights and our granddaughter loved it, which was the whole point. The site was looked after and during our visit, 1st to 3rd Aug 2022, the site was very quiet though our granddaughter met a few friends.Shame the pub is not open on a Monday and Tuesday night. Rather than drive out we had BBQ both nights on the bbq stand provided. The ablutions are okay, but the toilets have a problem with flushing! Overall we might go back but we'd go into a pod rather than a round house, because of the toilet and sink. The log burner is a nice touch too.

Good morning Terry,Thank you for your valued and considered review, it is much appreciated.I thought it useful for us to try and reply to your comments made, as way of explanation and provide more information:-1. Our Roundhouses - we are fully appreciative of the fact that a WC and running water would be beneficial with our RH units but we are off grid in terms of water supply and sanitation; we could not provide water or effluent treatment to these units without extensive engineering works and we have a limited supply of water with our private borehole supply. We ae also constrained by the National Park Planners who do not wish to see such works take place & our RH units replaced the Yurts that were previously installed, a straight swap as it were on the premise that little works took place. We would of course love to open on all evenings but it is simply not practical in a business sense at present; the amount of guests using this amenity is not worthwhile in terms of a business perspective I am afraid. We do hope we can welcome you back over a weekend perhaps to try our Beltie Restaurant and than you for your valued custom

Friends Birthday

I stayed in a roundhouse and my friends camped. Big improvement compared to the tents that were there before. Lovely weather, nice pub, breakfast and one of the waiters in particular looked after us and was really nice. Only thing I’d said would be that they could look at dropping their prices when nobody books up to see if they could entice some more customers? All other round houses were unoccupied.. ideal to take advantage of a less busy camp site though

Love accommodation, but site facilities need sorting

Accommodation was great. Site is lovely and setting is great. However toilet block was shocking. No toilet roll by 5pm and still none by 10am the next day. Hadn’t been clean either as the toilets were absolutely disgusting.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.I apologise for the condition of the Amenity Block, I will be following up with the cleaning team to insure that this does not happen again and will be cleaned to the high standards we expect and strive to offer at Lordstones.I'm glad to hear that your accommodation was great. Our Roundhouses were a new addition last year and they have been well received.I hope I can welcome you back on site in the future to show you Lordstones at its best.

Had a beautiful weekend staying in one of the roundhouses , lovely accommodation, lovely restaurant and shop , toilet and shower block were in good orderThe only thing I would change about the roundhouse , would be to add a blind to door window which looks straight onto the bedThis didn’t effect our time at all it’s just something we discussed when we left , overall very good value in my opinion
