Valleyside Escapes is DOUBLE GOLD AWARD-WINNING - Honoured as the best glamping site at the regional South West Tourism Excellence awards 2023-24 and the Devon Tourism Awards 2023-24.

Situated in our top paddock overlooking the Exe Valley we have three fully-equipped luxury safari tents – Oak, Maple and Birch. A former farm but we now share our five acres with sheep and the neighbourhood peacock often pays a visit.

Valleyside Escapes is a hidden gem, instantly relaxing, panoramic valley views, nature on the doorstep but close enough to civilisation - a perfect escape to the country.

Each tent has hot running water, electricity and Wi-Fi connectivity. They are beautifully decorated and provide all the home comforts you need.

They sleep up to six with two bedrooms – one king, one twin plus a cabin bed which accommodates two children or adults and has a cosy snug underneath!

Each tent has a bathroom containing a shower, toilet and sink. There is also a fully equipped kitchen with fridge freezer, gas hob and wood burning stove so you can get cosy as night time falls.

Next to this is a lounge area to play games, read a book or just chill out.

Outside there is a fire pit for creating some culinary delights and for the traditional custom of marshmallow toasting. We provide paella meal kits, perfect for an alternative to a BBQ or for groups hiring all three tents.

The best spot is probably a drink on the veranda overlooking the picturesque Exe Valley and you can even see a vineyard! For children there is a play area with bespoke mud kitchen and a boule and skittles court so adults can also get involved!

There is a private riverside meadow just a couple of minutes walk away & a great place for children to run around, paddle, complete the nature trail and burn some energy! For the adventurous it is a great spot for wild swimming or launching a kayak, or for a more chilled activity why not try and catch a salmon! There is a picnic area with benches right on the bank where you can see all sorts of wildlife including kingfishers, egrets, trout and even some otters.

On Friday evenings our Mediterranean-style courtyard bar is open serving local ales, lagers, ciders, wines and spirits. It is child and dog-friendly. There is a games room with pool table, darts & table football also situated in the courtyard.

On our doorstop we have the Fisherman's Cot pub, Bickleigh Mill & the Devon Railway Centre within walking distance & many more attractions.
