Accepted The Onnen Pod is built from local timbers and has an uninterrupted views of the Mynydd Mawr mountain and the surrounding area. The Pod is very well insulated and has heating and lighting (inside and outside), as well as two power points.
Camp fires are permitted in a fire basket hired from reception.
Outside there is a BBQ, cooking area and a picnic table. The campsite showers and toilet facilities are close by. The Onnen pod sits in its own area above the campsite.
Please be aware there are no beds in the Pods and you need to bring everything you might need for a camping trip apart from the tent.
Set on a traditional Welsh sheep farm, this family run Campsite and Self-Catering accommodation lies at the foot of the Moel Ellio Mountain with Snowdon nestled behind. Tyn-yr-Onnen is the perfect spot for those who want to experience Snowdon, go off the beaten track and enjoy the farms breath taking scenery. The facilities include modern toilet blocks with free hot showers, baby changing facilities, disabled shower room and a utility room. The campsite has a play park, a television room with table tennis and a pool table.
From the farm there are 100’s of acres of heath land to explore where you may meet our sheep, donkeys, lamas, pigs, ponies, chickens, ducks and turkeys. If you visit us in the spring, you can see some of our new born lambs. Walks to Mynyndd Mawr and Moel Elio mountains are easily accessible from the site, the most adventurous can even walk to the summit of Snowdon - we will be happy to recommend some of our favourite walks.
It’s not all about mountains and walking, there are castles to explore in Caernafon and Beaumaris, and the beautiful beaches in the Llyn Peninsular and the Isle of Anglesey. The Welsh Highland Railway Station in the village is a pleasant walk from the Campsite. Zipworld with the fastest zipline in the world is easily accessible by car. A short drive brings you to the village of Llanberis with the famous train to the summit of Snowdon, Electric Mountain, LLanberis Slate museum, and so much more. This was our 2nd stay at the site and again, we were welcomed by lovely staff. The site is nice and clean, facilities are cleaned regularly and a bonus to have access to a washer, dryer and freezers. We stayed in the pods as it was only a 2 night stay. But we will be returning next summer with our tent. Lovely to see the animals pottering around again.

It was our second stay . Amazing place, perfect location. The staff is really friendly and helpful. Clean amenities. It’s a great place for families and dogs. What I really like is that staff care about the quiet time after 22:30We stayed in a pod with great view and space for our dog.Thank you again for your hospitality.

The site is wonderful - tucked at the end of a lane you emerge into an immaculate site which is clearly maintained with great care.The pitches are well spaced, and other guests courteous to neighbors.The site is located near the base of Snowdon and offers 360 degree views of the surrounding hills.With ample amenities and friendly staff I would happily return, and also recommend to others.

We were in a group of 6 with two pods and a tent pitch, everything on site was perfect with easy check in.Everything you need is on site: washing machines, tumble dryer, fridges and freezers, microwaves and excellent kitchen washing up facilities.The toilet and shower blocks were excellent with the showers being nice and powerful and hot. Toilet blocks were always very clean and I never see them any different in our whole stay.There is a pub that does excellent food about a 5min drive away which we used a couple of times.Fire pit hire on site with logs is excellent along with the sale of stuff for the bbq that is outside your pods.What more can I say as a group of 6 we had an excellent time and not one of us could fault anything on site and have all said we would return here.Well done site team you have created a very comfortable place to stay with a very welcoming feel.

We had a lovely experience at the site, the pod was clean and well cared for. Facilities were clean and cleaned regularly, the staff were very friendly and always happy to help, Kids loved the play park and the site is very dog friendly. Overall a wonderful week staying here, we would definitely return.

A peaceful site with great views. Our 2nd time here in a pod. Great location forSnowdon routes, Beddgelert and Caernarfon. Pods are cosy and clean wirh electric and a heater, barbecue area outside and a parking space.Toilets and showers are clean and well maintained, there is a small shop with all the essentials on site and access to a shared fridge, microwave, washing up sinks, clothes washing and drying machine.
