Accepted Pennine View a family-run caravan and camp site on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, a mile from the centre of the historic market town of Kirkby Stephen. It sits at the midway point of the Coast to Coast route and are only a short drive from both the Lake District National Park, Yorkshire Dales National Park and the North Pennines, meaning that there are lots of walks and cycle routes nearby catering for all tastes.
These beautiful wooden pods can sleep up to 5 people and come with mattresses which convert from comfy benches to a big bed. The pods also come fully equipped with heating, light, a fridge and a kettle. In addition to the stunning mountain views, outside each pod, guests can make use of a BBQ and picnic bench
Guests will need to bring their own bedding, cooking equipment and utensils, towels and charcoal for the BBQ.
Well behaved dogs are allowed in our pods, however you must bring your own bedding for them.
Our spacious washrooms are well appointed and open 24 hours. They boast individual wash cubicles with mirrors, free hot showers, hair dryers and a deep sink in the ladies for baby bathing. A large disabled room is available in both the ladies and gents, which can be used as a family cubicle.
A children’s play area is provided with a swing and climbing frame with slide. Children must be supervised whilst playing on site.
We have a small shop in reception selling essentials to stock you up when you run out. (Plus chocolate because that’s an essential in our eyes!)

We’ve stayed at Penine View Park 5 times now, in their pods. 2 adults, 2 kids and dogs, if you pack lightly and leave most things in your car it’s a comfortable stay. Fridge and kettle provided along with cups, plates, bowls and cutlery. Picnic table and coal bbq also provided. You can park right by the pod too. The site it’s beautiful and we love the pub on site - Engine Shed, they serve a different cuisine each night from external catering companies. We love the walks directly from the site.

The pod is very basic- vinyl covered mattress, crockery and cutlery and a bar fridge. The heating was working well, but one light was not working. There is a kettle provided, but why not be hospitable and provide a welcoming pack of coffee, tea, biscuits and milk. This doesn’t cost a lot but is appreciated on arrival. No sink or water in the pod, but the camp kitchen is nearby.

Two days in a pod that was very clean and tidy and had all the cutlery and crockery we needed.only used it for breakfast as the engine shed served really good food we will most definitely be back before the end of your season

Great all round site with everything on hand you could wish for. Friendly accessible and all round excellent Close to the town, accessible for walks and countryside. On site entertainment and bar. Superb facilities - especially the showers which were better than the one I have at home !

We had a lovely stay great place, excellent value for money, great location, welcoming staff, great facilities shower facilities excellent. We loved our little pod nice and warm and the onsite engine room was fab and great food nice and relaxed. We came with a walking group of friends and would definitely recommend 😁. Thank you

Fab location with lots of local walks and the The Engine Shed was a great place to get food and drink, the park is small enough that you can confidently let the children have a bit of freedom whilst still being able to keep a close eye on them, and there is a small pay area which they enjoyed. Toilets and showers were clean and plentiful. The only thing that let the stay down was that the pod was not clean, the floor was absolutely filthy, the fridge had crumbs in it, there was mud marks on the seating / mattresses and overall it felt shabby and old. At £60.00 per night it was expensive for what it was, and whilst I might return to the site in a touring van, I would not stay in the pods again.

No issues at all, is a lovely site and the ability to eat/drink at the Engine Shed made for a very comfortable stay, thank you.

The site is really nice and clean, the pub on the site is also good we had our tea there. The only thing I would say is when we arrived about 5.30 it had been raining all day the pod was really cold, it would have been nice if the heater was turn on. I would definitely return.
