Available from Summer 2023, the Abberley Shepherd’s Hut is brand new to Ockeridge Rural Retreats.

A wonderful base for couples in need of some alone time and space to reconnect. It’s a light and bright space decorated with a country vibe, featuring tactile fabrics and oak finishes.

Enter the open plan living space. Two comfy armchairs sit side by side looking out across open countryside. Enjoy the peace and quiet as you get lost in a good book. Or watch some television on the wall mounted flatscreen tv. You’ll find the comfy bed to the right-hand side of the hut. Sited in front of a lovely picture window you can laze in bed with a mug of steaming hot coffee and a great view.

The kitchen is beautifully stylish, coming with a traditional Belfast sink and everything you need to cater for your stay. Dine or enjoy drinks at the breakfast bar, which again is perfectly placed for window views across the fields.

And the ensuite has a sink, loo and a large walk-in shower – ideal for washing away the grime of a long day out walking in the hills!

Outside you have your own patio space, made private with a rather cool green wall. Take a seat on the rather funky seats and enjoy time together long into the night.

Fully heated with gas central heating, radiators and heated towel rail in the shower room. Abberley is fully prepared to keep you warm and cosy whatever the season.

Kitchen appliances include a dual Microwave/convection oven, two ring induction hob, fridge, toaster and kettle.

Included in your stay are the following:

All bed linen, towels, and tea towels. In the bathroom, guests can make use of toilet roll, shower gel , shampoo, soap and a hair dryer.

We also provide washing up liquid, washing up sponges, bin bags, along with cooking utensils, pots and pans. Glasses, crockery and cutlery. salt and pepper, tea, coffee and sugar.

Please note that your hut has a designated spot for barbecues, and single use BBQ kits are available to purchase.

Jack’s Tuck Shop

All accommodations at Ockeridge Rural Retreats have a basket with goodies from Jack’s Tuck Shop. Fully run by our enterprising teenage son you can opt to purchase the fizzy drinks, water, crisps & chocolate on offer.

Please note that due to allergies we are unable to supply milk, this will therefore need to be brought on site by guests for your personal use.
