Enjoy a romantic stay for 2 in a cosy shepherd's hut with private wood fired hot tub on the edge of the Peak District. The hot tub comes with a small seating area and stove with window. Feel closer to nature and relax under star studded nights. There is also a firepit area with seating tucked away in a corner.

The Oak & Stars Hideaway is situated in Magdale, which is a lovely little hamlet with far reaching views across the Holme valley. It is situated in an enclosed garden which is in a wooded area. It is very private with small access gate to a quiet road where parking is possible.

The Hideaway has a Scandinavian feel to its interior and comprises of seating inside for 4 guests (only sleeps 2 but useful if they have a visitor), wood burning stove, kitchen with all glasses, crockery, fridge, oven, hob and coffee machine for that all important morning cuppa.

The bathroom has a small sink, flushing Victorian style loo, electric shower and heated towel rail. The double bed folds down and has a very comfy memory foam mattress with feather duvets and pillows. There is a radio with Bluetooth which gives you songs to sing or dance too whilst the small heater is for days you don’t want to light the fire!

The closest village is Honley which is a fun quirky village with little cobbled streets. There are tapas, Chinese, Italian restaurants in the village. Kräfty Kettle is a really cool Craft Ale bar. The Allied is a good old local pub with great hand pulled beer and an enclosed pub yard/garden - ideal for a summer drink. There are clothes shops, hairdressers, cafes, lifestyle shops etc.

The nearest town is Holmfirth (Last of the Summer Wine country!). It’s actually very like Whitby with its cobbled streets and quirky shops etc. Great restaurants and bars too. Always ask the owners for recommendations if you like.

Just 5 minutes walk or 2 minute drive up the road is Hinchcliffes Farm Shop - which offers fabulous fresh fruit & vegetables, bakery, butchers, flowers, gifts etc. They also have a great restaurant/cafe called The Rusty Bull, serving breakfast, coffees and fabulous light bites and full meals. Friday and Saturday nights are open for dinner too.

The 3 Acres Inn & Restaurant is a fabulous and very well known place within the area and further afield. The most amazing atmosphere, fantastic food and drinks, great service etc. 100% worth a visit. This is only 20 mins drive from the hideaway. The owners can arrange a taxi if required.
