Absolutely amazing site I have visited with friends and family and also alone on many occasions.The site is beautiful,well maintained and with very friendly helpful staff. They have accommodation for all either camping glamping lodges pods,there’s something for every type of trip.with a useful little shop on site and only few minutes walk into the village of Pooley bridge.

Great site with good access to Pooley Brodge and the lake, plus nice walking from behind the site. Only improvement is glamping pods would benefit from some coat hooks for wet clothes and an extra shelf or two on the walls.

We had a fabulous time in one of the dog friendly glamping pods. Brilliant facilities in the pod and a very comfy bed!The campsite is peaceful and beautifully maintained. Would recommend to anyone if they want a tranquil escape in outstanding countryside. Pooley Bridge is five minutes away and has a vast array of pubs, cafes and a wonderful bookshop ! Ullswater on the doorstep, exceptional.

Glamping pod was really nice and clean with every amenity needed for a comfortable stay. We have stayed here many times before over many years and we have always found the site a very pleasant place to stay, however this time all the pods apart from ours were booked by one huge group of about 30 adults and about 20 children so when it came to night time they were noisy and decided to pitch a group circle right outside our pod and after having to confront the drunken group we managed to get them to move away but sadly they still kept noise going late. I think it's the sites fault to allow groups of this size to book and should consider when people pay more than £500 for a four night break they would require site to manage such situations themselves.

Went with friends and family and stayed in the glamping lodges, added on the linen package which included bedding for both beds and (small) towels for the shower. Beds were comfy and the lodge had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It's small and not much storage so don't come with the kitchen sink! We didn't try out the microwave/oven and didn't find the toaster until the last day (behind the bin in a cupboard). Great location really close to pubs, cafes, shore for paddle boarding etc. We'll be back!

Hillcroft is a great place to stay, and we return year after year. Friendly helpful staff together with modern well maintained facilities Keeps us coming back. We have stayed in the glamping pods and camping pods and both are value for money, well maintained and in good positions on the campsite. The campsite is also very pet friendly and has a well-stocked shop for those things you might forget. This site is located perfectly a very short walk away from Pooley Bridge Village. The village is full of shops pubs and places to eat and makes a good family location.

Whilst we had a lovely time as always, we found the glamping pod was in need of some minor repairs. The flooring had separated so there were gaps where the underlay could be seen, the sealant around the shower tray had some mould and was not water tight and the shower room handle was wobbly with a missing screw. The fold out bed had become detached but we managed to fix it. Whilst I wasn't upset, much to the kids disgust, the WiFi wasn't working and couldn't be fixed during our stay. On the positive side, the glamping pod was clean, the site is very well ran and beautifully maintained. The staff are very professional and helpful.

The site was ideally situated for a walk that we had planned around Ullswater Lake, starting and finishing in Pooley Bridge.We stayed in a glamping pod. It had everything we needed.The only downside is that we ordered the bedding for the pod. When we arrived it wasn't there. We also realised that we hadn't packed any towels. We went to reception to say the bedding was missing and then walked into Pooley Bridge and bought some towels. When we returned to our pod the bedding was already there - and towels were included. So we made an unnecessary trip and bought towels we didn't need because the bedding was initially available even though we'd paid for it.
