We returned as we loved it here last year for my daughter’s birthday. But this year was really a big letdown, we stayed for my daughter’s 7th birthday and we were so excited to get away for the weekend as a family. Only to find all the staff were so rude, no experience with customer service, no manners and need training badly. No help with anything we were asking for and didn’t seem like they wanted to even be there. My daughter asked me what the issue was as she could see how rude the staff were. I think having to pay for each activity was over the top and should be included within the price of the stay as it’s not exactly cheap for a stay. We would not come back or recommend as it was such a big let down. The place itself is beautiful and there is so much potential but the staff really did ruin the experience for us.i had asked for a travel cot on arrival in the room for our baby and we were not provided with one. I also found having no soap or towels in the room was another let down

We stayed at Hidden Valley for the June Bank Holiday which was Fri to Mon (3 nights) We consist of 2 adults and 3 children. On booking the lodge I paid half the cost. In the lead up to the weekend I contacted HV to enquire about making payments towards the balance but was told the balance has to be paid on arrival/check in. If I had the option to make payments off the balance ahead of arrival it would have been more convenient for me. Staying in the resort did not give us access to any activities everything was extra. Multiplying everything by 3 made it very expensive. All activities are to be booked online apart from the boating which makes last minute purchases impossible. This was an issue for a couple we met where English was not their first language. We did have access to playgrounds and the waterway. The gates to the playgrounds closed in the evenings so access was cut off then. There is no supermarket in Rathdrum and the closest shop is a rip off

Overall, the stay was very good. There were lots of activities, except some were closed, and it wasn't clear from the website at the beginning when I booked that could be improved. There is still a lot to do. People were very good. The restaurant was ok. One improvement area would be the Wi-Fi, especially as you have a lot of kids there more and more unfortunately on their digital items, but maybe it's good to not have Wi-Fi.

We stayed for 3 nights at Easter as a family of five in the boutique lodge. We have been caravaning now for 4 years but unfortunately the hidden valley does not accommodate for twin axel caravans so we had to pay to stay in a lodge as we always wanted to bring the kids here. It was expensive considering we have a great caravan that we could have brought with us which is such a shame. Although we where disappointed with not being able to get full use of our caravan the lodges where perfect. Spotless clean and everything we needed in them. We made some great memories and lots of activities for the kids which they absolutely loved. Would definitely recommend. Many thanks

I cannot fault the friendliness, cleanliness and facilities, but we stayed in a lodge and it was extremely expensive with no towels or bedsheets/duvets provided. This would have been acceptable if the onsite activities were more reasonable, but we found all activities hugely overpriced which would be a big deterrent in returning for another holiday.
