Meeting the neighbours was 'different'. They were the cattle ( mother and calf) in the field next to the glamping pod we stayed in. We had planned the stay to reconnect with area my wife and I grew up in. Lots of changes in the last 35 years. Visited the Roman Army Museum and thoroughly enjoyed it. Also visited The Sill exhibition centre and made good use of the cafe there. Staff at the site were extremely helpful and cheerful. The pod was cosy and had everything in it that we needed.

We have camped in a tent at Herding Hill twice before but this time we stayed in the luxury pods and were very impressed with themand, we were very happy with everything about it. It is well maintained, very clean and well stocked with a starter pack...coffee ,tea, milk, biscuits, washing up liquid and toilet soap and shower gel plus a starter pack of kindling and logs for the log burner and BBQ. We had an issue with the tv, we couldn't get it to work so they moved us straightaway. The pods look out to countryside and are very peaceful, just what we needed. The staff were amazing and nothing is too much trouble for them. We walked into Haltwhistle, the Sill and sycamore gap, lots to see and do surrounded by beautiful countryside. We loved every minute of our 3 night stay, well worth the money. We will be returning. Thank you to the staff at herding Hill.

Recently stayed for my husband’s birthday. Though the weather was miserable we still had a great time. We stayed in a castle pod again and it was fantastic. You literally turn up with just your clothes and food/drink as they have thought of everything. I paid for the celebration pack so the pod was decorated for us arriving. We managed to to the hot tub twice due to the weather. The pod was lovely and warm with the underfloor heating and the wood burning stove. We ordered pizzas for the Friday night and they were delivered at the time we requested. The site itself is immaculate, so clean and tidy.Loved seeing all the animals again. We walked down to the pub down the road for a mealin the Saturday night and it only takes about 10 minutes each way. Hardly any cars passed us so it felt really safe.

AMAZING! This was our first time glamping, we stayed in the Castle Pod for 2 nights in September. The pods have everything you need and have amazing views. The site is so quiet, the staff are fantastic, nothing is too much trouble. We arrived on the Friday so were able to take advantage of the pizzas they offer on a Friday evening, delivered to our pod at the time we requested and worth every penny. The location is perfect, sadly it was cloudy so we didn't get to see any stars but we managed to BBQ and have a fire while enjoying the peace and quiet. Don't think about it just book.

We had a very relaxing time at Herding Hill Farm. The staff were friendly and helpful the whole place was well maintained and the animals all looked happy and well looked after. We stayed in a Castle Pod, it was lovely and clean and had everything we needed. We were blessed with clear skies on the first night, stargazing from the hot tub was a fabulous experience. Haltwhistle is a nice little village to have a wander around and Hadrians wall is right on the doorstep, amazing walks with amazing views for all abilities within easy reach.

Had a fantastic stay, the pod was excellent, very clean and well maintained. The view from the hot tub was nothing short of spectacular. Great walks along Hadrians Wall were within easy walking distance. Also had a wonderful Sunday Lunch at the Milecastle Inn (as recommended by Herding Hill Staff). Will definitely stay again

This area of Northumberland offers fabulous walking along Hadrian's Wall, historic sites to visit, beautiful towns such as Corbridge, Hexham, and great food and hospitality at the very many establishments, notably the Twice Brewed Inn and the Milecastle Inn.

This is a lovely peaceful site perfect for some rest and relaxation. We stayed in one of the Castle pods which had everything we needed along with a rather wonderful hot tub with views of the hills and countryside. A short journey to the Sycamore Gap where we could see the stump was sprouting! Hexham and Corbridge offer free parking for 72 hours and easy to hop onto a train to Newcastle from both of these places. We called in at Gretna Green (about an hours drive) on our way home where there's a wonderful Scottish shop. The weather was sunny and warm which always helps.
