Our Castle Pod accommodation was great (particularly enjoyed the hot tub). Excellent dog field. The local area is a beautiful setting with excellent shops and cafes in Haltwhistle. The local chippy did deliveries too.We would happily recommend this site.

I was totally amazed with the total experience of Herding Hill. The pod had everything you needed and they even had a dog bed and bowls for our dog. They have thought of everything for everyone and I do mean everything. The best things for me was the awesome hot tub wow what a fabulous experience just loved it. Thank you we will definitely be back

Firstly let me be clear this review relates to our experience in a Castle pod only. We have used this site for a number of years with our tourer and it’s a fantastic touring site with excellent facilities. This time for a special occasion I booked a Castle Pod as a treat but sadly it didn’t live up the luxurious stay it sells. Issues we experienced were the hot tub not working on arrival and once resolved it was a number of hours before it reached temperature suitable for comfortable use. Dirty glass wear, marked hot tub towels, stained kitchen utensils and a high level of dirt/debris discovered under the sofa which our dog highlighted due to her level of interest as it included dog biscuits from previous stays. The gap is easily big enough to get a mop under but clearly hadn’t seen one for a while! The positives Tracy who booked us in was very welcoming and friendly as was Mike who fixed the hot tub. Overall just really disappointed HH didn’t hit the mark for us this time.

Stayed for 1 night in a castle pod with hot tub to celebrate our anniversary. The pod was spotless, as was the surrounding areas on site. The bed was super comfy! Staff were friendly and happy to help, explained how everything worked and where everything was when we checked in as we’d not stayed before. The only negative we found was check out being 10am, we felt a bit rushed having breakfast and washing the dishes and would have preferred the check out time to be a little later, even just an extra hour to 11am for our morning to feel a bit more relaxed. But we would still return in future as we really loved our stay!
