Our first time stay and it was amazing. Very clean and private. Pod very comfy with everything you could need, great hot tub and complimentary bottle of fizz. Lovely well kept site with 5☆ facilities for campers. Near enough to facilities, shoos, bars supermarkets in Haltwhistle, yet set in beautiful countryside surrounded by field, sheep and cows. Easy access to Roman sites and Hadrians Wall. All can be reached by bus. Staff cheerful and helpful, can't fault the site it is truly worth 5☆.

Glamping at Herding hill

1st class campsite. Small but with facilities to match a bigger site, and so clean. Love the fact everything gets recycled too. Communication was excellent throughout, although not sure why I couldn't book a longer break online. Phone Communication was no trouble though. Site was brilliant for local bus transportation to start of walks or for visitor centres if that's your choice. Think maybe milk, eggs, fresh produce would have been useful but Haltwhistle only a few mins away for provisions. Cannot fault this gem of a site. Loved our weeks stay in a pod. Such a friendly place but also nobody bothered you. Loved it all.

It was our first time at glamping and what a lovely experience it was. The pod was amazing and well worth the 5 star rating. It had all the facilities you need and the site’s location is perfect. For us we enjoy the outdoors, the quietness and the history behind this type of location. We would highly recommend this site to anyone who also enjoys the same.

A quick getaway

The site is such an amazing hide away. Well laid out, clean, tidy. We received a warm welcome upon check in, given a thorough guide of the site and the cabin. Whilst our stay was short the memories will last a lifetime. We went for a couple of nights to escape the real world, and we were not disappointed. it absolutely met every expectation. There is a very handy guide giving us tips and ideas for when we return for places to visit and walks to go on.One tip, if you do want to eat at the pub (The Milecastle Inn), we found the food excellent and the service just as good, I would recommend booking, they get very busy very quickly, we didn't book but got lucky!

We have been twice now because its such a wonderful place to stay. The staff are very polite and friendly, one staff member even offered to start our outdoor fire for us. We stayed in the castle pods and the view is amazing and the animals are a nice touch to the atmosphere. Its one of the cleanest places to go 100%. Never had a problem everywhere (even outside) was spotless. The beds are nice and comfy and the heated flooring is lovely especially on a night time. The hot tub is also very clean and already heated for when you arrive. Perfect to dump your bags and get relaxing right away. If you book you wont regret it !

This was our first time at Herding Hill and we can’t wait to go back. We stayed in one of the adults only castle pods and it was just perfect, from the outlook to the pod its self. Absolutely spotless, the pod contained everything you could possibly need, all you need to take is clothes, food and drink. The hot tub is brilliant and there is even a little fire pit to have a barbecue or just toast marshmallows as we did. The staff are brilliant and couldn’t do enough for you, we had the pleasure of trying the pizzas one night which are delivered to your pod and it was one of the best pizzas we have had. Haltwhistle is just a mile away which is lovely to visit. There is also plenty opportunity for some lovely walks and a nice little pub at the bottom of the road for a cold drink and some food. We truly had a lovely relaxed time, so pleased we found this little gem.
