We had the most gorgeous weekend away in the Herding Hill Castle Pod.I hadn’t heard of them before but stumbled across them, and booked one of their castle pods with the hot tub for a short weekend break for my husband and I.Wow. It was stunning. The guys were so friendly, the pod was super clean and modern, the hot tub was a gorgeous treat and the whole site was beautifully maintained - lots of space to walk our dog, Juno, and some great walks close by.Thank you so much for having us! We can’t wait to come back!

Stayed for 2 nights with my wife and dog. Facilities wee fantastic. High end en-suite and kitchen. Nice touch of a welcome bottle of bubbles. Really comfy bed. Logs for both indoor stove and outdoor log burner. Which we cuddled up to both nights. The full size Jacuzzi really made for a great couple of days. Pub 10 mins walk down the road ( sadly not dog friendly) hadrians wall 20 mins walk. Can’t recommend it enough. Will definitely be back.

A warm welcome in mid-January, a little snow on the ground but a very cosy Castle Pod. Our dog, Oscar was also made to feel very welcome. The Castle Pod was so comfortable, and it seems everything was thought of and to a high standard. Relaxing in the Hot Tub was wonderful as we watched the sun go down over the distant hill. So peaceful. All the facilities on site are spot-on.The snow faded and the wind blew - a time to relax with a glass of wine and a book. Oscar was so chilled too. It was good to step out of the pod - walking Oscar and looking at the stars (so clear). We have to mention the breakfast box, beautiful. We can't thank the staff enough for such a relaxing stay, just what the doctor ordered (as the saying goes), and the other catchphrase - "We'll be back."

Me my partner and our small dog stayed in the castle pod, it was a perfect getaway so clean and very comfortable and all the staff are super friendly and very knowledgeable and ask them where to go and visit they told us some fantastic areas to see, The weather wasn't great one day but the pod having a log burner and underfloor heating made our stay so cosy and the views from inside the pod and from the hottub was amazing. It was so peaceful and a very tidy site with a fantastic dog walking area, they even have animals for the kids to see, it's also very close to lots of places to visit and see but at the same time out of the way to be peaceful, on a clear night the stars are amazing to see too as its no light pollution around. A great find and we will be back again soon

We have stayed at Herding Hill with a motorhome twice before, but wanted to treat ourselves to a little touch of luxury in the Castle Pods. We loved our 4 nights here, the pod has its own private jacuzzi, BBQ and outside seating area, all with wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. Two of the Pods allow dogs to stay, so our dog joined us too. There is a great dog walking field at the top of the site, for those early morning/late evening strolls. The Pod was wonderfully equipped, with a very comfortable bed and on one clear night, we sat dark sky star gazing, what a view. The staff were very friendly and helped with any query or question we had. Its is within walking distance of the Roman Wall and many other Roman ruins and museums, just perfect. There are a number of local pubs within a short driving distance, all serving great food and local beers. This is a firm favourite and we won't hesitate going back.

Every where was very clean, site was quiet. I thought the layout of the castle pods could of been better . The 2 dog friendly pods had a restricted view of the valley due to other pods in front. Overall a great site and base for seeing Hadrians Wall. I would go again and recommend to others.
