At Ullswater Holiday Park we specialise in a friendly welcome. Our family has been here since 1958 and our park has plenty of space combining a sheltered position beneath Cumbrian fells with excellent access to the nearby shores and waters of Ullswater.

Glamping in Ullswater in the Lake District has never been so good. Our cabins are ideal for family glamping sleeping 2 adults & 2 children, and some accept pets also. There are wooden benches for beds but please note you will need to supply your own sleeping bags and camping equipment (mattresses not included, please supply your own). There is a light inside each glamping cabin. Background heating is available and there is a plug socket suitable for charging mobile phones & laptops at an extra charge. Check in is from 12noon and should be departed by 10am.

Children of all ages are made particularly welcome at the Park and we have a half-acre playground in the centre of the site. With swings, seesaws and a treadmill plus lots of open space for games and playing, the entire family can make the most of the open air and relax together on a glamping break in the Lake District.

Our self-service general store has everything you are likely to need during your glamping holiday in the Lake District – from groceries, camping equipment and kitchen necessities to newspapers, games and souvenirs and freezer block facilities. There is also an off-licence. There are onsite toilets and showers, laundry services and a licensed bar.

Ullswater is one of the northern lakes of Cumbria and widely regarded as one of the most beautiful and varied. It extends in three reaches for a total of nine miles, from Pooley Bridge to Glenridding, and the scenery changes from gentle river valley, woods and pastures in the north to the dramatic mountain scenery of Kirkstone Pass in the south.

For walkers, cyclists and tourists, Ullswater Holiday Park is well placed for exploring the Lake District National Park and most of Cumbria. The Park backs on to the fells, with the Helvellyn range, Raise and the Dodds behind us and the High Street Ridge and Howtown across the lake. These fells offer walkers plenty of choice, from strenuous climbs to lakeside rambles, and Wainwright’s Northern and Eastern Fells are just a short drive away.

We were very lucky to have got available accommodation at such short notice. We were thrilled on arrival to find what looked like little hobbit houses, the kids absolutely loved them. With the play park exactly opposite it felt like our own private space and garden. The camping cabins together are pretty far away from any other guests. With their own BBQ an pd decked area. My husband and 2 children aged 6 and 3 stayed in the one with bunk beds and our friend and 6 year old had the one with benches around, the facilities were all we could need and want, we spent the evening having a BBQ, and playing charades until it rained, we then took the party inside our cabin where there was plenty of room for all of us to play. Can't wait to return and would recommend to anyone! Thank you for a fabulous, last minute night away!

"Nice stay"

Miss H Dawson - Stayed with family, Aug 2017

Enjoyed staying in camping cabin. Nice and clean, plenty of room. Would have been better if cabin located in better position in park as prefer more privacy and the site is starting to feel like some of the more over run sites but apart from this no problems. Check in was friendly and efficient. The cabin was clean, spacious and perfect for our stopover. Wash block was clean and had plenty of facilities. Didn't get chance to explore the other facilities as it was a flying visit but it all looked great and would love to come back for a proper stay!

"Have been visiting for 16 years but this is the last time."

I've been coming once or twice a year for 16 years. This year was the first time with our 6 month old baby. On the day of leaving I had a major problem with my car and was left stranded at the campsite with my wife and small baby. They wanted the cabin back by 12pm which was understandable. When I asked if there was somewhere sheltered that my wife could sit with the baby for a few hours indoors out of the weather while l tried to sort out getting a car window replaced before our 6 hour drive home the response was "no there isn't". That was it, no help whatsoever. I couldn't total up how much I've spent with this organisation in all those years. As for the cabin we stayed in, they can't even be bothered to put hooks up for visitors to hang their wet coats. Won't be coming again.

Booked for two nights in one of the camping cabins with my wife and son. The cabin was great with plenty of room for the three of us. The sight is in a great location, very clean and has good facilities. Very child friendly with a well equipped and safe playpark. The toilets and showers were very clean with plenty of hot water. There is a covered outdoor eating area with a microwave which is very handy. The shop is well stocked and not overpriced. There's a coffee shop and on Friday and Saturday nights a fish n chip shop. We had fish n chips on the Friday night and they were excellent and good value. There's a pub a short walk away with a soft play area. Overall the sight is great and well located for exploring the local area. We will be back.
