We stayed at the hideaway in a kabina towards the end of October. The site is easily accessible with shops and pubs a short 10 minute drive away in the next town. We visited Howard house which was a beautiful stately home around half an hour drive away. We went to York for the day before we checked in and this was around a 40 minute drive away. The staff were very helpful and we even got a free upgrade upon arrival! The Kabinas are like home away from home, really nice decor, even down to the cups and plates and bedding. There are amenities to cook also. We were really shocked at how nice the kabinas were for the price we paid, they could definitely charge alot more!! We went in the hot tub early mornings and listened to the birds, very relaxing! Already looking to book again for next year. It was a gorgeous retreat like reset! I could have stayed here for weeks!

We stayed in the treehouse when it first opened a few year back and everything wowed us. Every little thing. So we thought the kabinas being new would have felt as special but it didn’t. Soon as we walked in it just felt a little lacking. It didn’t feel fully cleaned from previous. There was mud on the curtains mould spore on skirt boards and around window ledges and little hairs all around the wood that the mattress lays on. With a 2 year old this was a little worrying. We understand it was off season but we just felt a little forgotten about and to get on with it. There was a queue for the pizza shack at 5pm on the Tuesday we all got talking and no one turned up we had to ring and ask. It didn’t seem very clear. No nice touches in the kabina not even tea bags. Again just things like that would make you feel cared for. We ended up going to York for the full day on Tuesday just to try to stay out of the kabina. Which was not the point of booking a relaxing lodge just to stay around

We loved our stay at Baxby Manor. We hired a Kabina with a hot tub for a long weekend. Finding the place was easy. The staff were really friendly. The grounds were well maintained for hygiene and wildlife. We saw owl, kestrel and a wren stood right by our window by our bedside. The hot tub was ace… especially at night when we could star gaze and hear the night sounds. The Kabina was perfect for us…. warm, cosy and comfortable. Everything we needed. We visited Pickering, Rosedale, Howardian Hills, Selby, Ampleforth, Hexham and Easingwold. All fabulous places.

It’s fantastic to know that you found our staff friendly and the grounds well-maintained. Seeing wildlife so close is truly a special experience, and we’re thrilled that you were able to spot an owl, kestrel, and wren during your stay. We agree that there’s nothing quite like relaxing in the hot tub under the stars while soaking in the sounds of nature. We appreciate your kind words about the Kabina being warm, cozy, and comfortable. Overall was a lovely experience, exactly what I needed but it looks a bit bigger on the photos on social media. On arrival there was left over tea in the sink that presumably someone had been cleaning the kabina before our arrival and had thrown the left over down the drain. I’m not normally picky but hygiene to me is extremely important, it could have been a bit more clean but the bed was super comfortable and massive so it made up for it! The day we left, our checkout time was 10am, we got up early to have one last hot tub dip and the hot tub people came to clean out the tub. (We still had 1 hour till check out) I found this quite rude as we were having our breakfast outside and they were right next to us cleaning it out.

Me and my partner normally go on city breaks so this holiday was a change for us, and we were definitely pleasantly surprised. The campsite was in a lovely area, only 0.5 miles from the nearest town and a 30 minute drive to York. On arrival (and throughout our visit) staff were lovely and welcoming and answered all our questions, they were more than happy to help. We stayed in a Kabana which was lovely and clean on arrival, and we witnessed the hot tub being emptied at the end of our stay so there is do doubt of cleanliness there! Baxby Manor is a wonderful place to stay that provides excellent value for money if you are looking for a quieter break, but still wish to be in reach of activities.

The campsite is lovely and has great facilities whether camping or staying in one of the kabinas. We stayed in a kabina and it had everything we needed and more. The on-site food was incredible and the little shop had all the little bits we needed too. I would highly recommend and come again.

I was extremely lucky to win a 2 night stay in one of baxby manors kabinas this summer and it was absolutely stunning. The welcome was really friendly and the site was easy to navigate, definitely read the directions and instructions in your email to get to the site itself. The accommodation was great, lovely comfy armchairs and beds, a fab little kitchen, lovely modern bathroom and the bonus of our own hot tub. The site itself was so quiet and peaceful. Perfect for relaxing and recharging! We did a couple of walks from the site during our stay and up to nearby villages. The pub (plum and partridge) a 5 min walk from the site was really nice for a mid afternoon drink in the sun.We also treated ourselves to a pizza from the on-site pizza shack. They were absolutely amazing, probably the nicest pizza we’ve ever had! Overall an absolutely fantastic break and will definitely return. Thank you to everyone who made our stay fabulous.
