Experience camping in a glamping pod at Sumners Ponds Fishery & Campsite. The concept is to bring all your own equipment less the tent – so you need to bring your own bedding including mattress or camp bed, cooking equipment and anything else you think you might need for a camping trip. Best of all you will be cosy and warm with no wet tent to pack away at the end of your stay.
The glamping pod consists of lockable double doors, carpeted flooring, electric heater and lighting with the use of a double plug socket. There is also a small decking area on each of the pods for use as a seating and cooking area. At each pod there is a picnic table exclusively for your use.
Use of the showers blocks and electricity is included. Fishing is separate and tickets can be purchased when you arrive. The Small Lakeside Glamping Pods are located on the Sumners Lake and Farm Pond and can sleep up to two adults and two small children.
Glamping at Sumners Ponds Fishery and Campsite in West Sussex is a unique and beautiful spot set in tranquil countryside amongst 100 acres of lakes, woodland and pasture.
The campsite itself boasts high quality campsite facilities, acres of woodland, a working farm and fishing lakes. All this in a beautiful and secluded setting which is perfect for just relaxing, or for the more active, exploring the many footpaths and safe cycle-ways within and around the site.
Sumners Ponds is an ideal touring base, with many beautiful towns and villages near by. Access to the South Downs National Park and the coast is easy, while Brighton is only half an hour by car and London only one hour away. There really is something for everyone.
The Cafe by the Lake is our restaurant and bar which is open to both those staying on site and the general public. We aim to provide the highest standard of food and service.
When you arrive the Smith family and the team will be here to ensure that your glamping break in West Sussex is as enjoyable as possible. We look forward to welcoming you.

Have been staying at Sumners for years. Sadly its idealic countryside feel has gone due to over development. The new housing estate at the entrance and parts of the complex have ruined the secluded charm the place once had. It’s a real shame as it was once a place to escape too and now feels like a over commercialised urban park.

Love this place!Stayed in a pod on Farm pond. It was clean and cosy. The facilities on site are second to none. Clean toilets and showers and the cafe is lovely. The staff are wonderful all round from the moment you check in.The fishing on Farm Pond is great fun. It's a little small but there are bigger lakes on site to choose from too. Thanks to Sumners for another great stay.. see you soon! x

Stayed 2 nights in a pod on Farm Pond with my fishing obsessed 14 year old son, husband and daughter. Pod was basic (as expected), but cosy and great for us. The pond itself was set up so you were far enough away from other people not to feel on top of each other. It was so relaxing, peaceful and beautiful. Although we didn’t use the cafe, we had a look at the area at the front, and what a lovely location for lunch or just a drink. Everyone was respectful of each other and noise was minimal, contributing to the tranquility. The shower and toilet block was extremely clean at all times. The staff in the office were so friendly and buying bait was easy on site. My daughter was in a wheelchair due to an ankle operation and although everything was easily accessible, the only issue was the gravel, pushing her was quite hard. All in all, a really lovely weekend. I’m not into fishing but it was nice to watch my son in his element and us just relaxing. We are planning another long weekend soon.

I have written a comprehensive review on trust pilot. Unfortunately, the fishing is not what it states on its website, far too overcrowded and bailiffs do not monitor anything going on. Unsupervised children caused untold problems including hooking wildfowl and casting over lines. Spodding in my swim and even hitting my pole with their rods. All reported to management who didn’t care and said ‘that’s a shame’. Really wouldn’t recommend.

Good stay, toilet facilities good. Only draw back is you have to pay extra for fishing even if staying on a lakeside pod

Totally brilliant weekend - I've stayed before but this was a first time fishing trip. The camping pod was super clean and in beautiful location on the Farm Pond and the fishing was great fun.The shower block is the cleanest I've seen on a camp site and everything worked well. The cafe/restaurant is excellent and the staff are so friendly. Special mention to Luke the Fishing Bailiff, Gabe at the bar, and the lovely, super-helpful staff on the check in desk!
