Have returned to Sumners Ponds every year since I found it many years ago.There are various accommodations to choose from, from bring your tent/caravan/camper to 5* lodges…. And everything in between.The washroom facilities are the cleanest I’ve ever come across on a campsite and the cafe by the lake great. They serve delicious cakes and pastries, a superb breakfast and have a lunch menu and bar. The Queens Head is a short walk away for a quick pint or evening meal. They have two great fenced areas for dogs. (Small fee) There are 5 fishing lakes, catering for all ages and abilities. There many historical places in the surrounding area, the site itself has many walking trails and Brighton is short drive away. The staff are always helpful and on hand throughout the day, with an emergency number for evening times. All in all…. Just a great place to stay.

The bedrooms are very small also we had an issue with the oven which didn’t work properly no indication when it was at the right temperature instruction manual was next to useless Would consider staying at one of the lodges but you can’t book them for a weekend

We had the most amazing weekend at Sumner, lodge was absolutely spotless and had some gorgeous treats upon arrival. We bought some utensils from home to cook with as we weren't sure what was there, but we had absolutely everything we needed.My children loved the little bedroom up the ladder (Willows Hide), we even managed to catch 2 big fish and an endless about amount of small fish while float fishing.Overall a lovely weekend and the weather was gorgeous too, we have booked again to go back next year already!

Can not put into words the impression that Sumners Ponds gives on arrival. The Reception, Shop, Waters Edge Cafe, the accommodation with Welcome Pack are amazing. We are trying to book a return visit. Very dog friendly site that accommodates Lodges, Safari Tents, smaller Pods, camping in tents, Caravans and Motor Home pitches. Local village shop and pub only a short walk from the site.

Excellent in every way- lovely setting with a super Cafe on site - Staff are all very friendly and facilities very clean.Have stayed many times in our Motorhome home with great fishing for my husband This time we treated ourselves to one of the Safari tents by the Lake - Superb

The accommodation was clean, tidy and had a well equipped kitchen. We were greeted with a huge Victoria sponge, a fresh cob of bread, butter, milk and eggs. The views over the lake were gorgeous and the beds really comfy. The Cafe was set by the water and a great place to relax. We used the dog walking field twice at £6 a go and our dog lived the freedom. There’s plenty to do in the local area though my husband & granddaughter had a great time fishing. Food vans pulled on every evening offering steak and chips or pizza or fish and chips. The only one little negative was that there was no rack on the draining board so it was difficult to keep crockery safe but other than that, every single thing was perfect. My granddaughter was so happy in the snug where she slept, the dog was safe as there was a screen to keep him inside the property/grounds.Staff were helpful and polite at all times. A thoroughly great place to take a break or a holiday. Will definitely be returning.Towels provided.

We stayed in Willows Hide, a luxury safari tent overlooking the lake for 3 nights. Staying were myself, my husband and two young children who loved the cute “wardrobe bed” with hideaway doors that made it feel like a cosy den. The veranda was lovely. Loads of wildlife and we enjoyed feeding the horses and cows on site. Beds were comfortable with loads of cushions and pillows. Welcome pack of food was a nice touch. My only suggestion is to perhaps include some storage units under the cabin bed and a slim bedside table next to the beds for putting an alarm clock/ water bottle on. Otherwise it was a great stay.

The lodge was very comfortable and well equipped. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a relaxing holiday. There's something for everyone ie dog walking fishing,village pub , cafe and more. Being a disabled person is very demanding at time's but it was very easy to get around as the site and lodge were all level with only 2 small steps to the fishing deck. The seating was of a good height and comfortable. The bed was quite low and my wife had to help me to stand,and move around the bedroom, apart from that all was very good indeed. Worth a return visit that's for sure.
