A spacious and stylish 4-6 people safari-style tent with sun-deck.
Ham Hideaway is easily accessible as its less than 5 minutes from Sandwich railway station. Dover, with its cross channel port, Broadstairs, Margate and the city of Canterbury are all under half and hour away by car.
The entrance to our site is a very brief walk via a short pathway leading to a solid oak arched doorway which opens out to the hideaway - children love it!
Robins Roost boasts two beautifully-appointed bedrooms, a double and a twin each with thermostatic heating and windows (with covers). The oak-framed bedsteads are full-size in each bedroom and all have extra deep mattresses resplendent with very snuggly duvets, quality linen and super puffy pillows. The lounge/diner leads out to the raised deck, which has been formed from reclaimed blonde floor-boarding and commands very picturesque views across the surrounding rolling countryside-background noise is provided by the wildlife! The tent is laid to carpet throughout providing a reassuringly cosy feel underfoot-not what you’d normally expect under canvas!
Indeed, your hosts have thoughtfully considered every detail including the traditionally-panelled solid dividing walls too, which give each room a real sense of separation from the next and more privacy, especially at night-time.
The sophisticated and stylish interiors are complemented by beautiful furnishings adding further to the overall sense of relaxation provided by this very special tent.
Roosters even have their own key-access luxury private shower, vanity and toilet facility which is the length of a cricket wicket away from the tent, discreetly located beyond a screen of evergreen hedging. Think walk-in power shower with plenty of drying and dressing room area, vintage mirror vanity with counter-top sink and comfort toilet. All you need for a proper pamper!
Our Butler service option is unlike any other and is unique to Ham Hideaway, providing you and your fellow guests with the ultimate dining experience. Our own chefs expertly prepare breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, BBQ or dinner for you, butler served in the comfort of your own tent or under the stars on the deck. Our butlers add a sense of fun and theatre to your dining experience at Ham Hideaway. Allow our chefs our butlers to do all the work for you! A mouthwatering range of amazing banqueting options can be reviewed and booked by guests via the Ham Hideaway’s very own Butler concierge service.

Unfortunately the return visit did not come up to the standard of our previous trip. The missing ingredient was Chris who was on hand, extremely welcoming and helpful last year. This year we were 'greeted' by an unfriendly character whos first suggestion was we drive into town for breakfast at weatherspoons rather than booking at the connected pub! Warning the pub was not avaialbe for booking for most of the time we were there and weddings are clearly now massively prioritised to the detriment of other business. The noise from outside wedding receptions makes for far from a restful environment. I spent a day alone in the cabing resting as I'm recovering from serious illness and there was a constant stream of I assume potential wedding guests being shown around topped of with the cleaners disturbing me having been told to clean the tents following ccheckout a day early.
