We're delighted to introduce our new Pod Village - The Hive. You can now enjoy a breakaway in one of our 9 heated pods which are nestled in our woodland area here at Ghyll Head. The opportunities are endless here in the stunning Lake District.
Just a stones throw away from Lake Windermere and with an amazing array of fabulous walking and mountain-biking routes on the door step our Pods are a great base to allow you to explore this superb part of the country.
Our location is second to none with Bowness-on-Windermere just three miles away with its bustling bars, restaurants and shops should you want to mix it up.
Our accessible pods are a great alternative to traditional camping - great for those not overly confident at pitching a tent! This self-catered pod is ideal for a couples retreat, friends getaway or family staycation and can sleep up to 5 people.
Each camping pod has comfy single beds with mattresses, under bed heating and 2 plug sockets and 2 x 5v USB charging points. LED lighting is on hand to light up the pod in the evenings and a lockable door adds security to your getaway.
Each pod is equipped with a private picnic bench for sitting or dining during your stay and parking within the site adds further convenience for guests.
All holidaymakers will need to bring their own bedding or sleeping bags with them and the mattresses take a standard 3ft sheet.
Our camping pods are located in their own woodland area in which you can relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Please note that we are unable to offer access to Activities to Pod Village bookings. These are available only to our education residential visits.
Toilet and shower facilities are available within The Pod Village, just a short walk away from the accommodation.
You can prepare your own food in our well equipped kitchen area. You'll find a microwave, fridge, freezer (Please label & date any food left in there), a kettle and a toaster with our compliments. We ask that stoves are not used inside the building however the area adjacent to the wash-up area has tables that can be used to seat stoves (not BBQs). Guests can use our outside sinks for dish washing.
Within The Hive Pod Village we have The Buzz, our Community Room which is also available to Pod visitors to enjoy if not privately hired. The Buzz is a dry comfortable space where you enjoy your mealtimes, play a board game, or read a book.
