Welcome to Orchid Meadows in West Wales! We are a hidden oasis in which comfortable accommodation, good food and rustic cooking embrace nature. Our wildlife haven welcomes couples, singles, families and groups of friends and comprises 25 acres of beautiful, secluded countryside for you to explore, relax in and call your own.

Situated near Tregaron in Ceredigion between the Cambrian Mountains and Cardigan Bay, Orchid Meadows is a place where time seems to move slowly, the main thing that changes is the passing of the seasons and the stress of urban living is far away.

Red Kite Yurt will immediately appeal to all those who get the back-to-nature glamping thing. Pride of place inside is taken by the magnificent king size sleigh bed which, like all the other furniture and decorations in here, are themed around this iconic bird of prey. You can relax on the big, soft sofa in front of the wood burner, light up the candle chandelier and get cosy with the help of a glass of wine.

Red Kite is suitable for a couple or alternatively two adults with up to two children (suitable age range 5-12 – please enquire for other ages). For families, we provide two additional sleeping mats and pillows. Just bring two extra sleeping bags.

Outside is your private field kitchen with a wood-fired pizza stove and cooking hob, table, seating and all the cookware you are likely to need. But that is not all. You also have an authentic Kadai firebowl if you prefer to have a more traditional barbecue or simply want to sit round the fire and watch the smoke curl up into the dark West Wales skies.

Over in Wren Hut are your private compact flush toilet and mains shower facilities, plus a shared kitchen sink with fridge.

If you choose Red Kite Yurt, you can completely self-cater or take advantage of the on-site extras. A continental breakfast basket can be delivered to your door at a time to suit you and we can provide celebration welcome packages, meals, snacks, cakes and cooking ingredients, while you can help yourselves to fresh vegetables, herbs and salad plants grown on our small-holding (according to availability). Meanwhile, Katy, Jackie and Sara would love you to try some of their freshly laid eggs!

A special feature of staying at Orchid Meadows is the Family Nature Watch that runs during the school summer holidays. It includes guided nature walks, treasure hunts, trails, bat watches, wildlife camera link-ups and more for young nature detectives.
