Suitable for Families | WIFI Available | Camp Fires | Pet Friendly | Instant Booking |
The Onnen Pod is built from local timbers and has an uninterrupted views of the Mynydd Mawr mountain and the surrounding area. The Pod is very well insulated and has heating and lighting (inside and outside), as well as two power points.
Camp fires are permitted in a fire basket hired from reception.
Outside there is a BBQ, cooking area and a picnic table. The campsite showers and toilet facilities are close by. The Onnen pod sits in its own area above the campsite.
Please be aware there are no beds in the Pods and you need to bring everything you might need for a camping trip apart from the tent.
Set on a traditional Welsh sheep farm, this family run Campsite and Self-Catering accommodation lies at the foot of the Moel Ellio Mountain with Snowdon nestled behind. Tyn-yr-Onnen is the perfect spot for those who want to experience Snowdon, go off the beaten track and enjoy the farms breath taking scenery. The facilities include modern toilet blocks with free hot showers, baby changing facilities, disabled shower room and a utility room. The campsite has a play park, a television room with table tennis and a pool table.
From the farm there are 100’s of acres of heath land to explore where you may meet our sheep, donkeys, lamas, pigs, ponies, chickens, ducks and turkeys. If you visit us in the spring, you can see some of our new born lambs. Walks to Mynyndd Mawr and Moel Elio mountains are easily accessible from the site, the most adventurous can even walk to the summit of Snowdon - we will be happy to recommend some of our favourite walks.
It’s not all about mountains and walking, there are castles to explore in Caernafon and Beaumaris, and the beautiful beaches in the Llyn Peninsular and the Isle of Anglesey. The Welsh Highland Railway Station in the village is a pleasant walk from the Campsite. Zipworld with the fastest zipline in the world is easily accessible by car. A short drive brings you to the village of Llanberis with the famous train to the summit of Snowdon, Electric Mountain, LLanberis Slate museum, and so much more.

The staff, accommodation, cleanliness and location were all spot on and completely met our needs which considering there were 13 members in our party ranging from 7 to 73 was a great achievement! Thank you we had a wonderful time.

This was our 5th visit to the farm. We normally camp in a tent but this time we thought we'd try one of the Pods. It was nice for a change, we love our tent, but it was a nice treat not to have to dismantle and pack it away the last day!.We love it here, our daughter... This was our 5th visit to the farm. We normally camp in a tent but this time we thought we'd try one of the Pods. It was nice for a change, we love our tent, but it was a nice treat not to have to dismantle and pack it away the last day!.We love it here, our daughter loves the farm, she got to feed the lambs on this visit. The shower facilities are brilliant, so clean and lovely hot showers. There is a little park for the kids and the games room, and plenty of open space for the kids to explore safely. Just good old outside fun and a great way for kids to see a real working farm. There are some lovely walks, the one we do ends up at the local pub, which is highly recommended too. You can hire fire pits and Swedish candles, great for the evening to sit around and toast your marshmallows. Also, you can buy fresh eggs and meat. The views are amazing, its so relaxing here. We can't wait to visit again.

A Knott - Stayed with family, May 2019
We stayed in a pod for the third time and loved it as much as ever despite some very damp weather. The 12 & 15 year old still loved feeding and cuddling the lambs and visiting the piglets, ducks and hens, and of course also enjoyed the wifi and games/TV room. We love...
