Lady at reception was very friendly, toilets and showers were clean. Surroundings were beautiful - we were just really unlucky with the weather.

A great site. Lots of good walks nearby. Town a 20 minute walk. The Taggy Man is the best pub by far in kirkby stephen. Onsite bar brilliant., reasonable prices. Great food. Friendly staff, friendly campers. Toilets and showers clean and warm. Dog friendly. Had an excellent weekend even though weather was hit and miss. Can't wait to go back.

Loved the mountain pod, the river, the surrounding area (especially the nearby poetry path) and the lovely facilities.

This is our 2nd time staying here. Last time we had a tent and this time we tried a pod. It was lovely and cosy and much easier than a tent for 2 nights. Kettle and fridge were a bonus. Lovely clean facilities and we enjoyed some food and drinks in the Engine Shed. We had a fabulous stay despite some wet weather.

Probably the best equipped campsite I’ve stayed at, right down to the welly wash and dog wash station (plus toilets, hot showers, camp kitchen, small shop and on- site bar). Great location on the edge of Kirkby Stephen, with a scenic, traffic free riverside walk into the town. The Engine Shed is a great addition, serving well priced drinks and food. Loads of fabulous walks in the area (I was there with my walking club as part of a large group). Owners / staff are super friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back.

The location was perfect as a base for our walking holiday. Good, clean facilities and plenty of hot water. The site wasn’t full when we stayed so didn’t have to wait too long to get into the shower when we came off the fells. Camping pod could have done with some more shelves/hooks - everything had to stay in bags on the floor during our 4 night stay. Welcoming staff on reception, but nobody regularly walking the site so breaches of the site’s Terms and Conditions not addressed.
