Had a 4 night stay last week in kingfisher Lodge. Surrounding area is very peaceful ,clean and tidy .we only fished on our platform and further around snake lake .Caught a lot of fish although no double figures .we could have gone on the other lakes but we were happy just to do this .lodge was clean but we couldn't find can opener and connect to WiFi..these were no problem to us so we didn't inform the owners .Will return next year if possible as this was one of the best places we have stayed in combining both of our loves of fishing and hot tubing .

We had a shepherds hut on the lake with hot tub Positives: everything was very clean, good shower (also spotless), hot tub was fab, lovely view over the lake, peace and quiet, aircon was welcome! Staff helpful.Had some good days out to Ely and Cambridge- recommend Butch Annie’s steak restaurant in Cambridge.Negatives: bed v narrow for 2 people at 4ft wide, insect screens would be useful on the windows as you can’t keep them open due to midges, small leak under bathroom sink so we moved hairdryer to a different cupboard, v fiddly blinds.Overall we had a lovely relaxing stay - thank you!

My wife really enjoyed the hot tub overlooking the views, we were very impressed with the details even down to the towel shapped swans on the bed in our arrival. Wanted a different experience and we got just that it was somthing we would like to share at head fen again soon. Thankyou

We stayed in Kingfisher hut over Christmas and loved it so much we decided to come back during summer. The huts are lovely and right on Snake Lake which is small but feels very intimate and peaceful and like you almost have the lake to yourself. You’re allowed to fish for a fee and can use their BBQ free of charge which was great. The hot tub was very clean both times we stayed and we loved having to ourselves.The huts have mostly everything you need but as their self catered there are some things you would hope would be provided which aren’t, such as enough tea and coffee. There were 2 of us staying for 2 nights but we were only given 1 teabag and 1 coffee sachet each. There were also not enough sugar sachets. There was also no kitchen roll A couple of annoying things I feel could be improved: the blinds! the blinds are paper and take about 10 minutes per (5) windows to fold. A lamp would also be nice for night time.

We had a great stay. Relaxing, a lovely lodge. The hot tub was lovely but it didn't reach temperature on the first night. After that it was great.. We didn't have a firepit, there was s small bbq and the logs we had bought we could use on the inside log burner. Cleanliness was good and there was no fridge just a wine cooler which was ok. Shops and amenities were a 15 minute drive away as the location is quite remote which was fine for us as we had taken everything we needed as suggested.

Hut was very clean and tidy. There was nowhere to put your clothes but later we discovered a huge storage space under the bed which we weren’t told about. One small frying pan and a small saucepan we’re not really ample as I had a couple of meals planned so I had to be creative.Check in at four and check out at half nine I thought was a bit tight. However I knew that before we came.Staff were very friendly and courteous and they were the best part of the stay, full marks to them.The wine cooler was an odd choice for a fridge we thought but nevertheless I got our stuff in it albeit at a jaunty angle.The sprung bed wasn’t the best.Overall pretty good but we have stayed in better shepherds huts.

We had a lovely time and it was very peaceful and relaxing. We stayed and fished from the kingfisher cabin, and generously they left a landing Matt and net for us to use. There were some specimen fish in the lakes and some beautiful wildlife we saw such as owls , kingfishers and herons. We will definitely be back , we were able to order food one evening and had some lovely walks over the fields. Would defiantly recommend!

We was satisfied with everything.Ours opinion is that the ruf of the porch is covered will give a nice filling to relax and have a bath in the hot tub when it's raining.

On arrival the staff were informative and attentive. We stayed in kingfisher, which was extremely clean and well equipped for a short stay. My only criticism is I would prefer a fridge not a wine cooler. Air con was great addition. My husband really enjoyed his fishing and the hot tub was awesome. We will definitely be returning, already looking at slightly bigger accommodation.
