The glamping pods at Hillcroft Park are the perfect location for glamping near Lake Ullswater in the Lake District. Owned and operated by the Heath Family, the award-winning Hillcroft Park sits above the pretty lakeside village of Pooley Bridge.

Hillcroft Park boasts one of the most stunning locations of any UK holiday park and you are sure to have an unforgettable glamping holiday here. Designed to meet the needs of holiday makers who appreciate the peace and tranquility found in this part of the world, Hillcroft Park provides an ever-changing landscape that is simply breathtaking throughout the year.

Our glamping pods are suitable for couples or families with up to 2 adults and 2 Children. They are equipped with a light, heater and are carpeted, however, you are required to bring your own bedding (i.e. air beds, pillows, sleeping bags, blankets, etc.) and other accessories as you would if you were camping. Think of it as going camping, but we provide you with a glamping pod rather than a tent.

We love what we do and work hard to go that extra mile for our guests. Providing the best facilities with a personal touch, we’ve an onsite shop that sells a good range of local produce and everyday staples plus a play area with outdoor table tennis and football tables. There is a dedicated laundry room and a drying room.

We are lucky enough to be located in the beautiful Ullswater Valley and there are a multitude of walks for all levels and abilities in the area. A recent addition to the list is the Ullswater Way – a 20 mile circular walking route around the lake. The route can be walked in either direction and from any starting point.

My partner and I, can't think of one thing this park needs to improve! We stayed in a pod. It is such great quality, lovely area, clean and tidy, pubs near by for lovely food and drinks, it was just perfect for our night away. Everything we needed and more, the shop has everything you would need and few extra bits. The new shower block is lovely you don't even feel your camping/glamping, because it looks so posh! Even the old shower block is nice clean and tidy, nothing wrong with it. We loved the games room too , we went there and had a laugh playing connect 4. Thanks for a lovely stay we have told loads people about it already and can't wait to come back wirh friends.

Stayed here for a night in a pod with a few friends, had a good night in Pooley Bridge for food and drinks and sat out for a couple of hours on return to pod. The pod itself was clean, the electric plug and light help a great deal through winter and the bit of decking at the front and a picnic bench comes in very handy. Perfect location, helpful staff and an absolutely fantastic new shower block with animal noises and power showers - reminds me of a spa set up! Didn't get chance to use the private bathroom this time but will do next time we are there!

The only criticsm is the reception / site office is closed after 6pm. We arrived on Friday night at about 6.35pm and had to find our own way to pod. Would be better if reception / office manned until 7ish to allow customers plenty of time to arrive?

The standard of cleanliness and quality of the showers and toilet block is outstanding. I saw staff constantly gardening and cleaning. Only one tiny issue is that the pods weren’t clean on the exterior. Spider webs and bugs bedding in for the winter!! I haven’t experienced this in other pods on other sites, so could be easily addressed.

I recently stayed in a camping pod for two nights with my partner. the location of the park is excellent and only a few minutes walk into Pooley Bridge (which has some excellent pubs and restaurants) and a 15 minute drive to Penrith. Excellent wash facilities which are very clean and well maintained. the pod itself was also very clean and had a light, plug socket and heater. An overall very enjoyable stay and I hope to return next summer!

However you wouldn't of thought this as the park didn't seem overcrowded at all. We stayed in the camping pods which were for 2 adults and up to 2 children. I stayed with my child and a small dog and it was perfect. It has a carpet, an electric socket, a light ( not the brightest but we brought our own bedside lamp as well) and a heater which worked really well to keep you warm into the night. In my opinion if is that you have two children aged 8 and above you would need the family pods that are slightly larger. A big plus is the newly renovated shower block- WOW! It make glamping complete! The childrens park is just behind the pods and the park itself is 8 minutes walk to Pooley Bridge This is a friendly park and everyone respects the rules of 10 a.m quiet time till the morning. Which you do appreacite when having walked miles aech day with smaller children. An overall positive experaince which I would return too again next year. Thanks again Hillcroft.
